For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Morning all

Hope Franny's ds, Boco's arm, Boco's cat are all on the mend.

lol at Franny being buried under the rainbow towel mountain at the first mention of a possibility of a twinge

DD had a lovely birthday, we made a triumph of a cake involving lashings of whipped cream, blueberries and our PYO strawbs of which dd is particularly proud "I pickeded them myself so they are extra yummy"

I don't have gallstones - good because if I did I would probably have needed an op to remove them - bad because I have no idea what I do have. Off to quacks later this morning to discuss. Funny that you were discussing psychosomatic illnesses yesterday. Last night I was sobbing to dh that I think all the pain is in my head and not actually real as I have various ailments and have had x-rays and physio galore and there has never been any dx or improvement. See, there's nothing wrong with me other than being old and fat and a nutter hypochondriac.

DD does the screaming thing although she's not as bad now as she was 6 months ago thank fuck. Normally it's because she says she doesn't want/like a particular food so it gets eaten by someone else or thrown out and then half an hour later we have a flailing decibel-busting octopus like creature on our hands because rejected food is no longer available. Ho hum.

TooTicky · 03/07/2008 10:22

Franny, you are on the verge of giving birth and you call it a dull week?

I ate a loganberry in the garden.

Is Fmf still here?

TooTicky · 03/07/2008 10:23

Good luck with doctor TigerFeet. Do you really believe that it is all in your head? [interested]

Dd2 has just fallen asleep on me at this time of day!!!

TigerFeet · 03/07/2008 10:37

I don't know what to think really.

Since dd was born I have had a lot of pain in my lower back. I have had x-rays, physio and medication but there has been no improvement and no-one can say what is wrong. My left shoulder is a very similar story, lots of pain, xrays, physio but no difference.

This time I have abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting. The cramps can be extremely painful, labour pain intensity at times. Google throws up the possibility of a peptic ulcer. I am trying not to google too much though - I wonder if I am inventing symptoms to fit my chosen ailment.

I really, seriously do wonder if I am imagining it all - some kind of cry for attention maybe? Or a need to be ill so I don't have to go to work (I never wanted to go back to work after dd was born but had to, we were skint). Or perhaps it's my recurrent depression maifesting itself? Who knows?

TooTicky · 03/07/2008 10:38

How do you feel about homeopathy?

TigerFeet · 03/07/2008 10:49

I am really interested in homeopathy but I don't have the cash to see a proper homeopathic practitioner.

Off to docs now.

TooTicky · 03/07/2008 11:15

A decent one will treat you regardless of means. The ones I know are very kind. We have had free treatment and very reduced treatment. I can't remember whereabouts you are but there are excellent ones in Basingstoke, London, Bath and Bristol.

OsmosisBanana · 03/07/2008 14:15

TigerFeet · 03/07/2008 14:23

If you stick the watermelon up yer jumper OB then you may get mistaken for Franny

I didn't see my usual GP. The one I saw was 12 years old. I was sobbing "I think it's all in my heeeeeaaaad, I am going maaaaaaaaaaad" and he looked taken aback and a bit scared. He thinks I have stress related IBS and gave me more pills.
