I have just got back from seeing my oncologist and having been prescribed tamoxifen I am now officially an 'inactive' cancer patient.

I will have a reconstruction in the autumn but my cancer treatment is complete

A big thank you to everyone who offered support - it was much appreciated especially since I was diagnosed the week I moved to a new country where I knew no-one beyond my husband and children.

I have lots of new doctor and nurse friends now though

7 1/2 months down the line I'm ready to resume my life

ooh, I must look at your meet-up thread, meeting you is LONG overdue...I am a bit 'expect me as you see me' atm due to DS's situation, but if I can be there, you bet I WILL!
And buying you a big massive drink, too.

Absolutely thrilled for you Anorak.

I came to Mumsnet late, but I was struck by how upbeat you were and inspite of you having a bad time around Christmas, you just seem to have become more upbeat as time has gone on.

I'm thrilled for you - attack life with renewed vigour and your old optimism and you'll be fab and fine!

Lots of love and many congrats,

xxx

Wonderful news, Anorak, and at being 'inactive'. To go by your other thread, and from what I've heard from others, the treatment is far from easy so you deserve to have a fabulous time now. xx

gomez · 26/06/2008 00:33

Well done you! How exciting - now you can perhaps enjoy Bermuda

Vev · 26/06/2008 07:03
