With respect, you’ve posted over the years about numerous serious illnesses that you were convinced you had, and each time it felt like an emergency. At some point it may be worth asking whether the pattern itself is the issue.

Nobody is saying your symptoms aren’t real, but repeatedly jumping to the conclusion that you’re dying or have a serious disease is often a sign of health anxiety rather than evidence of a life-threatening condition.

Make a GP appt. My DH has had two huge skin cancers removed and both were absolutely fine and no further treatment necessary, one had an 8inc scar and was still fine. Stop spiralling, you'll make yourself ill.

Go and watch some telly, go for a walk, have a bath, look up some relaxation techniques on you tubes. You need to distract yourself.

My son had something that looked similar. Hes 11. We went to the Dr's to get ut checked - i actually wasnt worried its just that the NHS website says to get a spot that hasn't cleared up in 3 weeks checked - it was there MUCH longer. The dr looked said 'dont worry its a cyst' I was like ok fine. Went home, forgot about it. Got a call back from the doctor at 7pm that night who said actually ive re-thought and im going to refer you to dermatology just to be sure. I freaked out. But a few days later it came to a sort of head and all this gross stuff came out like toothpaste. It was a cyst. Nothing scary at all. We've had the referral come through and if its come back - which it might if its a cyst I MIGHT still take him along. Or I might cancel a week or so before. Not sure. Point is even when it looks dodgy enough for a GP to be concerned it probably isn't anything bad

Don't cancel it,go along anyway and get them to check it. Cysts often need the sacs removing or they come back.

You need to stop posting on here and make an appointment with your GP. No one on here is able to diagnose you. Your health anxiety is the main problem. Seek help for that.

Beya4567 · 15/06/2026 08:38

So she looked at at when I was stood up..and said its absolutely nothing....like a little pimple...i said bit it scabs over....and had been there ages...she said she's been in the job 25 years and its got no worrying features ..she didn't get out the demo magnifier thing and she just looked at it fit like 2 seconds..
What do I do now

Wishimaywishimight · 15/06/2026 09:01

I thought it looked like a pimple too! Go home, make a bit of breakfast and stop scratching!

Did you ask your GP about your health anxiety? It sounds like a horrible way to live. If you are in your head the whole time fretting about every little feeling in your body then you cannot be enjoying your life/children.

What do you mean, what do you do now?

You don’t need to do anything, you’ve been told there is nothing to worry about.

myrtletrotter · 15/06/2026 09:44

Please make an appointment about your anxiety, it is more important than a pimple and will effect your children, my DM was a bit like this.

Also, as we go through life we will at some point have things wrong with us, I have had two life changing diagnosis, you have to learn to deal with it.

It's good that she said it's nothing. Would you have rather she confirmed your worst fears?

Beya4567 · 15/06/2026 10:19

No not at all...but she just looked at it and went oh yeah that's nothing what so ever. I told her it kept scabbing and she wasn't fazed at all ....

What is the point in seeing a doctor if you think you know better? Do you really think that google knows more than a trained expert?

It does seem that you won't be satisfied until someone tells you that there is a problem.

The reason she only needed to glance at it is that it was obvious to her that this is not a problematic lesion, that it is a run of the mill pimple that scabs over because you won't leave it aline.

MissMoneyFairy · 15/06/2026 10:45

The doctor says its fine, if you want a second opinion then pay for a private dermatologist, you need to addess your anxiety first, nothing anyone can say will reassure you.
