Dh-update

He is very ill, and spent most of the day sleeping. They have made him as comfortable as they can, and I did get to have a about 15 minutes chatting with him and the kids this afternoon.

But it is clear that he is getting iller by the hour.

I realise that it is almost impossible to predict these things but his consultant thinks that he probably has around a week or so to live, less if he continues to get worse as he has over the last few days.

I know that MN is amazingly supportive, and I don't know where I would be without your kind words of support. If you feel that you want to 'do' anything can I ask that you contribute a few bob to your local hospice or the Macmillan Cancer relief charity? Dh and I are 'sorted' financially, and we would both like to think that he was remembered by people all over the UK helping people in their local communities.

We are hoping to get his MBE presented in the hospice (thanks to the wonderful work of MI, her mate in the FCO and the RAF.....a rare combination of disparate souls )

Much love and thanks

I drove behind a bus with an advert for our local hospice on it today MB and thought about your wonderful dh. Apparently they need millions a year to run. I will donate to it.

Much love to you all.

sorry to hear this MB.
Thinking of you. xx

Blandmum · 19/06/2008 21:57

it costs around £860 per patient per day in the hospice that dh is in....and all the money has to come from charity. I'm sure the figures are the same UK wide (except higher in the London area)

Sorry to hear this MB, thinking of your and hope the MBE is sorted

Thinking of you and your family MB, and I will make a donation to our local hospice.

LynetteScavo · 19/06/2008 22:02

I will be donating to and the local hopice charity shop, in response to the thread. (The DC's prefer the PDSA because they have a statue of a cat and dog outside )

I've been wondering, but haven't liked to ask before, how are your DC's coping?
