I’m in! Test booked for tomorrow morning. Just read they take five vials. FIVE?!

Carriemac · 18/05/2026 17:53

The worst bit is the needle , five vials is not much volume . Drink plenty of water

Exciting that you’re all booked in 🎉

Different tests require the blood to be pre-processed in different ways, but they’re all small tubes and it doesn’t take long to fill them!

Thecows · 18/05/2026 20:15

How long does the whole process take please? Do they weigh you etc?

mismomary · 18/05/2026 20:17

thanks for water tip - will do. Must remember I’m fasting and not make my usual 6am brew!

I have been told my appointment tomorrow is 30 mins, think as well as bloods it’s all the usual observations.

It’s about 15 minutes in total. They explain everything they’re going to do, then check your details and give you chance to ask questions. They measure your height and weight (which you need to remove your shoes for), and check your waist and hip circumference. Then they take your blood pressure and resting heart rate, and collect the blood.

mismomary · 19/05/2026 09:48

I’m all done - very easy - was about 15 minutes. Very grateful for the water drinking tip!

I signed up last week and was pleasantly surprised to be off the waiting list so quickly. I'm in Cornwall so there is a longish wait (two weeks) for the blood test as there is only one location for the whole of Devon and Cornwall at the moment.

Not looking forward to the blood test, but can't wait to see the initial findings. I am an avid follower of Dr Chatterjee and have recommended his books to several people. I am very interested to be involved in this programme.

Got my blood test booked for Thursday !

I was a bit disappointed in the turtle to begin with but we had a "chat" and I asked for a more authorative tone rather than cheerleading responses everytime I ate walnuts etc.

It immediately switched and I'm finding it more helpful now. Probably obvious to people more accustomed to using AI but I'm not and didn't realise you could just ask to switch like that until uv was told so sharing here

That’s useful I hate the ‘good job’ cheerleading tone in some of there types of apps

Had my blood test done yesterday. It's an hour's drive and I was held up by roadworks, so I was running late even though I had left extra time.

I hadn't taken my meds either, as I usually take them at lunchtime, so my BP was through the roof. The young women were quite worried that I was going to die on them but all went well. Looking forward to getting properly started now.

Carriemac · 07/06/2026 07:48

I’ve got my results , biological age one year younger than my chronological age , and I have three changes to make this week .

GertyFreely · 07/06/2026 07:56

Have you listened to Katherine Ryan's podcast where celeb guests give a blood sample. At the end of the chat, their "biological" age is revealed. It's usually 20 years younger than their actual age. Jimmy Carr is 53 but apparently his cells are 27 😂

Chatterjee seems thirsty for fame and riches to me. He is always flogging something. He was on Sunday Brunch about a year ago and he brought his guitar along because he used to be in a band in uni and he was probably hoping it would lead to another strand of fame. I can’t remember what happened but he was cut off or something and he didn’t look happy. He reminds me of Dr Ranj. Ranj is so thirsty for fame. Not content with his many tv appearances he is now auditioning for musical roles because SCD made him realise he was a performer. So many of these medics are now trying to get on tv for the fame and riches. And along the way they are relying on the worried well to boost their bank balances.

God forbid a man has hobbies 😂 or likes the idea of pursuing a creative avenue to complement his scientific day job!

OlDroopyMouth · 08/06/2026 04:45

Not a hobby. Hoping to turn it into coin.

Carriemac · 08/06/2026 08:50

I’m really enjoying exploring my blood test results and comitted to improving for my next test . It’s weird how I feel I’m in competition with myself

Newgal2019 · 12/06/2026 06:42

TonTonMacoute · 12/06/2026 11:22

@Newgal2019

Have PMd you

I have two more invites if anyone is interested

Thecows · 13/06/2026 00:39

Anyone saying why can't you just get the blood tests done at your GP I'd say good luck with that! Dr C and Do Health run a huge battery of blood tests and its 3 times in a year although they don't do as many 2nd and 3rd time I believe. The 🐢 is very useful for interpreting the results and the tests were done in a very professional manner. I couldn't give a stuff if the man is making money from it, they're hardly going to offer it for free are they..
