13 various long-term conditions.

Am the same though need to ask GP why I'm on 4 BP ones. Ramipril's the main one which is now one of the UK's most prescribed drugs and very effective.

  1. One lot of bipolar and one for hypertension.

Plus two others on an as needed basis.

So 20.

If you don't mind me asking, do you space them out over the daytime as I do or just take them all at once?

plus 1 injection every 2 weeks (fuck I forgot to do that tonight…) and 2 injections done together every 5 weeks

ViciousCurrentBun · 28/02/2026 23:42

Very new to this, a beta blocker and one that improves chemicals round my heart as a heart condition. The beta blocker is the smallest dose possible. also a low dose dispersive aspirin. So 4 a day, I bought a pre payment cert.

To be honest I’m getting my head round it as apart from being seriously ill as a child and needing medication I have had a lifetime of never needing it till now.

I got a clap emoji!

I space them out @Britainisgreat . About a third in the morning, a couple at lunch and the bulk in the evening. Sometimes a couple extra if I need to, which isn't often.

IncompleteSenten · 28/02/2026 23:44

Currently 8 in the morning, 9 in the evening. Its been more.

CrystalGaze · 28/02/2026 23:47

In terms of prescription drugs, it's just HRT, so it's one pill (progesterone) per day and an oestrogen patch twice a week.

However, I also take vitamin D3, omega 3, vitamin K2, calcium and magnesium daily. In addition, I use eye drops throughout the day, to help with dry eyes and blurred vision.

TheChosenTwo · 28/02/2026 23:50

None but i Sometimes help my mum sort her meds out and she takes 10 a day, 4 in the morning and 6 in the evening.

AnotherDayAnotherNameDay · 28/02/2026 23:50

Zero currently (age 48). Have just discovered I have an underactive thyroid though so am guessing that might change.... 😐

SuperBlondie28 · 28/02/2026 23:54

1 per day for high blood pressure. Sometimes I don't even bother. 1 every 2 days then.

Georgiepud · 28/02/2026 23:57

2 for hypertension.

Realisation14 · 01/03/2026 02:21

4 prescription ones daily. I then have 2 other prescription ones that are "as & when needed" scenario so not every day.

GnomeDePlume · 01/03/2026 02:51

In terms of different medications 4 daily (12 tablets) plus one weekly injection.

I take levothyroxine first thing in the morning. Everything else I take just before going to bed.

Because of the sheer volume, when I collect my prescription from the pharmacy it looks like I have robbed the place.

Cosmication · 01/03/2026 02:57

None apart from vitamins

Cillmantain123 · 01/03/2026 03:31

@SuperBlondie28
Its very important you take your blood pressure medication everyday.
Taking every other day can cause strokes, kidney failure and heart disease as it’s not controlled.
Can I ask why you don’t take it as prescribed

Eviebeans · 01/03/2026 03:42

None apart from vitamins- I am 63 - am starting to think I have been very lucky with my health

AnyoneWhoHasAHeart · 01/03/2026 03:43

13 now, and some of those will drop off in the next few months.

but just after my surgery it was 35.
I had a transplant.

CobraChicken · 01/03/2026 03:59

Just two.

I've recently gone back on a low dose of an SNRI I was on previously (at triple the dose, for severe anxiety) and it's done the trick.
I was nowhere near as anxious as previously, but had noticed I was starting to avoid social situations and feeling very overwhelmed by stuff I'd been coping fine with, in the interim, and I just didn't want to wait for it to snowball again.

It's probably all menopause related but I have various people close to me currently battling breast cancer (and, personally, zero other issues with meno, other than anxiety) so I chose to go the AD route instead of HRT.

The only other thing I take daily is a Calcium and high dose D3 supplement.

Octavia64 · 01/03/2026 04:08

5 plus an inhaler.

my mum though is 80 and no pills.

chroniciconic · 01/03/2026 04:13

Uh, it depends. At the moment I'm on six pills a day, including two vitamins. I have a seventh pill to take as-needed, which is usually once or twice a week, and last year due to a chronic pain flare I was on up to eleven pills a day to control it. I also have a vitamin injection every three months.

However, my ability to maintain what is for me a lower level of medication is entirely due to an intense medication I self-inject each two weeks to control my chronic illness. Before that I wasn't on pills so much as topical treatments, with four-to-five creams and ointments at a time including immunosuppressant cream, steroid creams, paraffin moisturisers, and prescription bath and shower products. I had to use some of those up to three times a day all-over, so while it wasn't pills it was still a lot more medication than I'm on now.

chroniciconic · 01/03/2026 04:17

I forgot to add, most of my medications are to control severe atopy (dermatitis and rhinitis, in my case) along with an antidepressant and an anti-anxiety medication. The chronic pain is due to hypermobile injury and strain, so I have periods of needing regular painkillers and periods of, thankfully, not needing any at all.

I'm hoping to be able to come off a couple of medications soon as I've just recovered from a flare!
