2, vitamin d and biotin. Op if it’s to treat something then it’s just necessary, my mum always tells me not to get carried away and to watch carefully and only take what I need as in what I’m low in, get as much from food as she took a lot of supplements to cover various possibilities even though she didn’t need all of them (eg calcium when not low in calcium, iron when she hadn’t been told she had low levels, a lot of different supplements to cover menopause but she said it was because she had a tough menopause and back then they didn’t recommend hrt) and it led to blood and kidney issues. But I remember growing up our medecine cabinet was like a Holland and barret!!

Edited

Those are not pills/ drugs just supplements. I take those too but they are not prescribed

lljkk · 01/03/2026 09:06

None for me, not even vitamins.
Very grateful for my good health.
I believe 83yo stepmum (only) has HRT & some vitamins.
Meanwhile 83yo Dad is on a lot of things, mostly prescription some vits. Poor guy is getting used to being rushed to hospital with AFib. He is very frustrated by his poor health & I fear I will be just as grumpy if I ever become similar.
It's so hard for men to age with good health.

GentleSheep · 01/03/2026 09:07

2 pills per day for underactive thyroid, and a bunch of vitamins/minerals.

DoAWheelie · 01/03/2026 09:09

6 in the morning, 5 at lunch, 2 at night, plus two patches, two inhalers, a nasal spray, a liquid, and 3 more PRN tablets as needed.

I have multiple auto immune conditions, chronic pain, asthma, hypothyroidism and I'm allergic to a massive long list of everyday household materials. I've tried many combinations of tablets trying to find the best balance between managing symptoms without excessive side effects and this set up has been the most stable with the smallest amount of meds.

RaininSummer · 01/03/2026 09:15

JulieFerriersBoob · 01/03/2026 09:31

112.5mcg of levothyroxine (two pills) - since 1990
Adcal D3 (two pills) (osteoporosis)
Zolendronate infusion annually (osteopprosis)

I have pushed back on a statin but mother has just been diagnosed with having several silent strokes despite good bp, no diabetes and never having been overweight. I shall probably shortly reverse my decision about a statin.

also refusing statins

CelticSilver · 01/03/2026 09:45

Not one between us, family of 6. Feeling lucky!

Cillmantain123 · 01/03/2026 18:34

@SuperBlondie28
That explains a lot
It may be even the wrong one because there are so many types
Might be worthwhile getting a 24 hour BP monitor ?
I recently had to have mine increased, however had been on the same dose for about 10 years

MabelMarple · 01/03/2026 18:41

Seven different ones but 11 tablets a day. Plus inhalers and eye drops. Also a weekly injection for rheumatoid arthritis.
One of those drugs is just adcal, a calcium/ vitamin d supplement but I include it because it's on prescription for osteoporosis.
Zolendronic acid infusion annually.

Statins included. I resisted because of the number of drugs I'm on, but realistically my qrisk score is high and I didn't want regret of hindsight. I take the lowest dose possible and had zero side effects ( unlike all the other drugs)

I've been on lisinopril since prescribed in 2019. I'm lucky I've never had the famous lisinopril cough. Again, I don't know why I'm on them... The 19 stone, heavy smoker, slightly older than me lady at work is borderline high BP but her doctor say she doesn't need medication. I'm 11 stone, younger, never had a ciggie in my life!

ForAmusedHazelQuoter · 01/03/2026 19:42

None except a multi vitamin for over 50’s.

EveryKneeShallBow · 01/03/2026 19:47

13 different medications and 22 separate pills plus I just finished a five day course of IV antivirals.

emmetgirl · 01/03/2026 19:51

Let me see.
2 antidepressants (they saved my life)
4 antihypertensives (I have a strange response to them where they don’t work as well on me as they do on other people - it’s a long story!)
one puff of a beclomethasone inhaler
2 squirts of a nasal steroid (I had a fully blocked nose for over 6 months- it was awful. This keeps it clear.
a pump of oestrogen gel at night (HRT)
I’m 59

ghostyslovesheets · 01/03/2026 19:53

mondaytosunday · 02/03/2026 00:36

None. But I’m a type 1 diabetic so take insulin every day.

Elbowpatch · 02/03/2026 00:46

None. Mid 60s.

Octaviathethird · 02/03/2026 01:28

9 different meds, 13 tablets a day, at least 5 jabs a day!
7am 3 tablets, 2 injections.
8:30am 4 tablets, 1 injection.
6:30pm 4 tablets, 2 injections.
11pm 2 tablets.
Possibly more injections if I eat or drink anything other than water during the day, I usually only have one meal for tea and 2 coffees in the morning.
Type 2 diabetic, insulin dependent, high blood pressure, no thyroid.

Faceofaperson · 02/03/2026 01:42

Was on 1 a day until recently following an illness.
Now on 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening. Plus Gaviscon x 4 daily.
Plus 2 vitamins.
Plus 2 x tablets if and when needed. Plus an emergency spray.
Compared to others on here doesn't seem so bad now!
