Metallic taste in mouth, hyper sense of smell making me gag

But I'm not pregnant. I had a 'weird' period a week early a couple of weeks ago.

Any ideas? I'm off to the Drs on weds as it's driving me mad but I've no idea what it could be. And she's the sort of Dr that I need to tell her what I want done or tested to get anything done.

erm.... i'd do a preg test as 'weird period' sounds like implantation to me.

it'll be the first thing the doc does so you might as well save some money by doing it at home!

My first thought, I have to say was - pregnant for sure. Have you done a test? The weird period could have been implantation bleed.

If you're really not pregnant, get a dental check-up. Many of the most common causes of metallic tastes are tooth-related.

But I'd still do a pregnancy test first.

My 1st symptom was a metallic taste. Pg tests looked neg for a while. This time, just a big boob and getting fat

Sorry, should have said I know I'm not as I've done 3 tests - all negative. My weird period was heavy and clotty and just 2 days then a break for 2 days then another day of light. I actually posted on here wondering if I was having a mc but wasn't sure how possible it was.

Last time I had sex was almost 4 weeks ago IIRC and we used a condom. So surely any VERY sensitive pg test would show by now? You're all freaking me out as this is the most bizarre phantom pregnancy - all symptoms the same as my other 3 pregnancies. Also almost fainted earlier.

Thanks for that link Orinoco - it sounds very similar. I suppose it's just maybe one of those things? I have a feeling the Dr will just give me a look then send me packing with a "come back if it doesn't improve in a few weeks".

I went through a phase last year of being really sensitive to smell and even throwing up. We never worked out what it was.

what about waiting a few days and then doing another test? if you are worried, you should point blank go to the doc, though.
