I'm doing quite well with my walk 30 miles challenge; I've done over 21 so I'm on target to finish by the month end. I've raised over £500 with more promised, which is much more than I expected. DH sometimes comes with me, but I can tell he gets a bit frustrated as to how slow I am. We're off to London at the weekend and I don't know how well I will cope with all the walking involved. I find London exhausting at the best of times.

I've been sick several times recently, which is a bit worrying, as I hadn't been sick at all for over six months. On the bright side, the dizziness has reduced, although still strikes occasionally.

I started the re-vaccination programme last week (because my immune system was wiped by the CAR-T) with another one on Wednesday, covid and flu early October and boosters for some of last week's ones later.

Topofthecliffs · 21/09/2026 21:42

@Ohjoyohbliss I think the secret with Ludwig is to remember that David Mitchell is a comedian and to see it as a silly romp not a serious murder investigation. I will watch the last few episodes later.
I had my bloods today and will have a chat with my GP when they are back. She will decide whether to refer me into 2WW depending on the results. If not it will
be the slow lane and I will explore the private route.
How is your walking going? Have you reached 20 miles?

Im going for a flu jab next week but I think I shall skip the Covid one as I have had 11 so far and am no longer immune compromised. I have had Covid twice but not been unwell luckily.

Well done on the challenge @Ohjoyohbliss and thank you.

Glad you are having a great holiday @Zoopet

Hope bloods are OK @Topofthecliffs

Just collected DDs stuff today as she's flying out to China. Have put tiles down in laundry room and just need to add grout then that's done - on track for electrician on Thursday.

Hope everyone is fine.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 28/09/2026 15:50

I had been feeling really well, then gradually over the last couple of weeks I've become really breathless, with a dry cough, so I'm off for a chest CT soon 🙄

Topofthecliffs · 28/09/2026 17:39

That’s annoying @BatshitCrazyWoman and unsettling too. Hope all is well.

I am dogsitting for my DDs crazy dog and fed up of her running off and not coming back. She is staying firmly on the lead tomorrow!
I have waited in all day for the GP to call about my hernia referral. If she hasn’t rung by 6pm I am going out to buy supper. Bah! I’ve got a tension headache and I don’t like having to stay away from home with the dog. Grrr.

Hope the rest of you are having a less annoying day.

Sorry you are feeling ill @BatshitCrazyWoman Hope scan is clear.

Hope GP called @Topofthecliffs

Just been doing work on house and garden. Electrician has been in and done all the electrics and they were 2 around 19 year olds so we have a walking switch, sensor light and more sockets than we asked for - lovely, hardworking, polite young men and they did a great job and did the boiler socket for free. DS has taken the walking switch, it is for his bathroom.

I've now painted all the downstairs bathroom including ceiling and cupboard and cleared the cupboard for plumber to come in. We had them round to assess yesterday and they hopefully will come to do work on Thursday or Friday. DD is now in China for 2 weeks. DH has been doing skirting board in laundry room and the floor in there is now tiled and room painted. I cleaned after electricians - 19 year old boys can be very untidy but I knew that already.

MrsSPenguinz · 03/10/2026 23:28

Hope everyone is having a good weekend and any tests have come back clear.

We have just had plumbers in for 2 days and they are now finished and washing machine is moved and worktop we added then they added countertop sink and tap and have plumbing ready for new bath and new pipework across two rooms and externally. Good to have that done. We have to move drier across but discovered the door is 0.5cms narrower than the drier but luckily a modern, but still quirky, part of house so we can just alter the door frame slightly. Electrician back on Thursday for new consumer unit and to take electrics across for jacuzzi bath which arrives later in month. DS has been cooperating well, seems to really want this.

DD now back from 2 weeks in China and back to Oxford tomorrow.

Topofthecliffs · 03/10/2026 23:53

@MrsSPenguinz it sounds like you have made amazing progress in the house. It’s great that your DS is happy with the plans. Annoying about the door frame though…

I had a call from the GP just as I had given up at 6pm and driven to Tesco. As a result we had a rather snarky call in the car. She was annoyed I had contacted the surgery as I didn’t know she was planning to ring me. I wanted a private referral but she wants me to have scans first. We made a plan so I can move things forward on Monday.
I managed my week of dog sitting for DD without losing the dog but was very happy to get home to DH on his birthday. We had a nice lunch out and have done a Sea Safari off the coast which was brilliant.
I am loving this last burst of lovely weather and have been sorting out boats and garden stuff before it changes and the autumn storms arrive,

Thanks @Topofthecliffs Sea safari sounds amazing, glad your DH had a lovely birthday and you are enjoying the good weather.

We now have DDs stuff back to Oxford and in her new room. Monday did the garden, well clearing up after DH, the silkies and the plumber and planting a couple of plants. Tuesday got downstairs bathroom and kitchen cleaned following the plumbing work and DS and also took part of the door frame off so we could get drier in place. Laundry room is largely done now. Then went to the spa for the afternoon / evening and went to the rooms / pools, had a meal and had a treatment - the treatment included facial massage and it was the first thing that has improved my sinus thing I've had since chemo. Electricians on Thursday.

Hope everyone else is fine.
