May have a tiny shard of glass in my eye, but can not see it!

Hello

Tonight I got such a shock, a glass worktop saver/chopping board literally exploded while I was standing at it, only had it a few months. I moved it back and it just knocked against the metal fruit bowl.

I feel like there is something now in my right eye... DH has used eye wash but I am so bad with water on my face and eyes that it sent me into an anxiety attack and I cried a lot. Still feel its in there. It has had a lot of saline in it and tears.

Going to call optician in morning but I am looking and I cant see anything. I cant just go to hospital now as I am exhausted (I have M.E) and I have kids that are in bed.

I guess I thought that id be sat there for loads of hours anyway and id be better to rest and have it looked at tomorrow...I know I should go but the a&e wait times here are absolutely shocking. Maybe the opticians could get me seen quicker I was also thinking.

It's the morning now but people are seen and triaged when arriving at hospital,so if it's needed you are seen immediately. I've been a couple of times and been treated straight away.

The optician will send you to A&E

Thank you I was just coming on to update.

The optician gave me an appointment straight away, was seen at 10am ish and she did a really full check with the dilation drops, an eye scan, photos of the eye, blow test thingy, yellow dye, everything and she said there is nothing in there, said I do have dry eyes and prescribed eye drops but I still feel a gritty eye situation. She was happy though and so maybe its just irritated now. Not even any scratches (which apparently the yellow dye is for) very strange.

she even pulled my eye lid up to check under there and looked in with a blue light and a normal light.

Dry eye does make your eyes feel very gritty and takes a while to settle down .
