If you’re been prescribed this, what is it for? I thought it was a drug for anxiety or depression, but I don’t have those?

Stripeyanddotty · 25/07/2025 23:10

It’s also prescribed for nerve pain

Daijoubudesu · 25/07/2025 23:11

Sonolanona · 25/07/2025 23:14

Nerve pain with a side order of insomnia.

Bowlandbillow · 25/07/2025 23:14

I found it brilliant for sciatica (nerve pain). It is cumulative and you need to take it for a couple of weeks but it was the only thing that worked for me.

Tiredofwhataboutery · 25/07/2025 23:15

I had it for nerve pain , I had an autoimmune type response to a virus and suffered really bad migraines and shooting pains / numbness/ tingling down one side. I was in a low dose 10mg but I found it helped partly by knocking me out so I got a solid 9 hours rather than being awake and in pain at 2am. The dose for depression I was told was much higher 50mg+. I think it’s used to treat lots of things.

reversegear · 25/07/2025 23:18

For bladder pain.

Wonderknicks · 25/07/2025 23:19

Well, what have you had it prescribed for? You must know what you went to the doctor about 😂

tigger1001 · 25/07/2025 23:20

I use it for insomnia

lovemycbf · 25/07/2025 23:20

AsIsaidearlier · 25/07/2025 23:22

I have cervical spondylitis and I take it for that. I am on a very low dosage.

mjf981 · 25/07/2025 23:22

Tinnitus. Made it worse..

defrazzled · 25/07/2025 23:23

This. It is also an antidepressant. But it is often prescribed for nerve pain.

FiftynFooked · 25/07/2025 23:32

Fibromyalgia

Laughandleaveit · 25/07/2025 23:35

Migraine. Didn't work for me but know it does for some. What did you go to see the GP for? Might be a little clue there....🤣

Havingaswimmoose · 25/07/2025 23:35

My husband has it for nerve pain . He's pain free on it. Beforehand he found even car journeys agony. As a passenger.

OtherS · 25/07/2025 23:40

Had it for sleep. Didn't work.

Ewock · 25/07/2025 23:43

Nerve pain here as well. It does work but my goodness I feel awful the next day, like a zombie

Waltzers · 26/07/2025 00:34

Migraine, it did work for that but caused depression which I’d never experienced before.

HoppingPavlova · 26/07/2025 01:33

Soft tissue pain

PinkFlloyd · 26/07/2025 01:35

As a muscle relaxant to help me eat.

isitmytime · 26/07/2025 01:37

Back pain, IBS and sleep issues. It’s primarily an antidepressant but my GP told me all about it.
The lower doses work well for pain issues the higher for depression (I’m sure thats what I was told)
