Constant nausea and pale poo?

Feelingsickagain · 19/07/2025 14:30

I thought I had a stomach bug when I was suddenly unwell last week (nausea, diarrhoea) but although I’m over the worst I’m still feeling sick all of the time (sometimes worse than other, really bad last night, kept me awake) and have pale, clay coloured poo.
My DM had gall bladder issues which went on for years.

Dr Google says liver, gallbladder or pancreas.
I don’t have pain - just constant ache of nausea.
Has anyone had anything similar?! Was it gallbladder.

Get it checked out asap

endofthelinefinally · 19/07/2025 14:32

You need to see your gp. Those symptoms need a consultation with a doctor.

Buildingthefuture · 19/07/2025 14:33

I didn’t have those symptoms when I had gallstones. I had intermittent excruciating pain. See the Dr asap.

Feelingsickagain · 19/07/2025 14:36

Thanks everyone. I have decided to go to GP so will try to do that on Monday although at my GP it’s either ‘emergency’ appointment or wait for a month. I am not this is an emergency but not can it wait for a month so I guess I’ll go down the emergency route.

I’m not sure this is an emergency but nor can it wait for a month 😐

It is a GP emergency.

FestivusMiracle · 19/07/2025 14:42

I think it’s an emergency.

Lennonjingles · 19/07/2025 14:51

Go as emergency as I suspect they will refer you for ultrasound and you may have to wait for this, 3 weeks in my case, they’ve found a large gallstone, my stools aren’t the same colour, paler but not grey.

Feelingsickagain · 19/07/2025 14:51

OK, thanks.

Is your skin itchy? My symptoms of a blockage of gall stones was pale poo, itchy skin and awful indigestion. I’d say it is an urgent GP appointment or A&E if you start to feel worse.

FreewomaninParis · 19/07/2025 15:08

I asked ChatGPT and it stated the urgency as high as symptomatic of serious pancreatic or biliary disease. I’d probably not wait till Monday to be honest. Better to be checked out - even if it’s nothing.

Feelingsickagain · 19/07/2025 15:12

Hmm I don’t feel any worse than I have for the last ten days and better than I was last weekend. Am a bit low energy I suppose but A&E seems a bit extreme?!

No itchy skin.

although now starting to feel a bit anxious, lol.

FreewomaninParis · 19/07/2025 15:15

You could call 111 and see what they say. They might get you an out of hours appointment. Otherwise push for a GP Monday. Hopefully nothing, don’t be anxious!

Brokenforsummer · 19/07/2025 15:19

Call 111. It’s a sign that your liver isn’t working. It’s not something to leave 48 hours.

Feelingsickagain · 19/07/2025 15:24

I’m not yellow and eyes are still white so isn’t gallstone more likely than liver?

DH and I have both had stomach bugs this last week. All the symptoms you described apart from the coloured poo. Maybe there's something going around and it's just a bug. Best to get it checked out though.

FreewomaninParis · 19/07/2025 15:32

It could also be Hepatitis. That often presents like a stomach flu then progresses to nausea and pale stool.

could be liver too. You only go yellow at a certain point.

It’s the poo that’s the most important. It means bile isn’t making its way to where it’s needed. It’s blocked

This is yet another reason why Mumsnet should not allow this kind of post looking for medical advice. Ring 111. I wish we had that service in Ireland but it is what it is.

Seawolves · 19/07/2025 15:35

The yellowness and itching can come much further down the line in my experience. I would call 111 for advice and if not, I would definitely want an appointment on Monday. Please don't leave it

BlackStrayCat · 19/07/2025 15:35

Pancreatitis (my experience) A&E sharpish.

verycloakanddaggers · 19/07/2025 15:36

Phone 111.

Stop putting it off and call them, they can get you an out of hours GP appointment or advise you.

Feelingsickagain · 19/07/2025 16:45

Thanks for the input. Have done 111 online and now waiting for callback.

I think this is an example of posting on a health issue is useful. I asked for experiences rather than advice and was planning to seek GP help on Monday but the posts here have prompted me to act sooner - without panicking - and I am grateful for the input.
i wasn’t and am not looking for a diagnosis - just opening the discussion to people who may have more experience than me or DH (the only other person I’ve shared details with). I don’t know what 111 will say but MN has encouraged me to err on the side of caution and I think that’s probably a good thing!
