For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Pomegranate molasses is a syrup made from...

Apparently it is used in Middle Eastern cuisine, and was the key ingredient in a dip I recently bought from Waitrose which I have replicated at home....

I cheated a little bit and got ready cooked beetroots, but it was easy peasy to make.

Basically it was 1 pack of ready cooked beetroot, 2 tbs tahini, 2 tbs yoghurt, a tiny bit of horseradish and a couple of glugs of the pomegranate molasses, whizzed in the liquidizer. The yoghurt wasn;t strictly necessary but helped the liquidizer in its' work.

Organic gardens were lovely but in need of attention, our Veg Box scheme man has just taken them over so I have high hopes.

We don't have a cupboard as such, dd just says can you pass me the wotsit or appears with a pile of things. I would like to be more organised and have a place for it.

We didn't go in the house or grounds in the end despite buying NT membership, we walked through the sheep and had a picnic by the lake.

There was a lot of screeching and grass being put up noses and then I upset dd by telling her that Andrew the noise monster was going to come up through the lake and gobble her up. I thought a ridiculous name would make it not scary but she sat stony faced for ages and then cried all the way back through the sheep.

applegrapesmelon

I like the new cupboards but they appear to be mostly full already and we have only put about 25% of the stuff away in them

Hope you had a good day, Bero. I'm glad you are communicating, albeit painfully

How was the like-a-bike? DS has a Puky and it's fab. It's scary how fast a 2 yr old can go on a 2 wheeler with no brakes

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 21:55

aaaaaargh ds has apparently told dp what his present is already waaahhhhhhhh

I only just showed ds the video this afternoon, we haven't even got the fucker yet

Were you thinking he would keep it a secret, Franny?

I'm menstruating and am only a week late. So maybe all ok now? But am meant to be seeing Man tonight and want to snuggle in bed with a book instead.

UnderRated · 24/05/2008 21:59

Sorry if that was insensitive, MrsC

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:00

UR it's full moon, you should be menstruating now, it's the 10 / 10 way

erm
yes I was thinking he might keep it a secret for like, more than AN HOUR
am idiot aren't I

did also think if he told dp, dp could lie to ME and pretend he hasn't
that's what I always do

Dd2 has been explosively sick
Still, at least we had one good night's sleep [resigned]

Fullmoonfiend · 24/05/2008 22:03

we are watching the eurovision song contest, getting drunk and having a blast. We stil think nothing can ever top last year's Ukrainian entry

here

TooTicky · 24/05/2008 22:04

Oh dear Franny. I think they reach anb age when they can't keep secrets anymore. Dd1 was fantastic when she was 2-3, wild horses couldn't drag them from her.

TooTicky · 24/05/2008 22:05

Oh yes Fmf, we liked that one too. Dd1 still sings it...

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:05

oh he has always been rubbish
I did think he might be getting better, though, he certainly WANTED to keep it a secret this time I think
he just gets carried away and lets it slip out

Somebody please tell me that 2yos get through tummy bugs quickly. 6yos suffer for 24 hours but a bf 2yo....an hour? Two? [desperately optimistic]

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:08

does this sound familiar to anyone? ds has several little spots, plain red, slightly itchy but not really bothering him, on his stomach and back
I don't think they are chicken pox - not large enough and not blistery
I don't know what they are - he isn't usually a spotty kind of child
they are only about 3 mm in diameter and he doesn't seem to have any other symptoms

Heat maybe?

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:10

oh I would hope a quick recovery TooT
maybe that will be it? I am sure bm will help enormously
let's not be too descriptive about it anyway (been a lot on the thread for poor emetophobes to cope with lately )

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:11

what kind of insect would it be do you think? they are on the back of the shoulders, few on the stomach and chest

looks more raised to me than a heat rash TooT although I don't really know what I am talking about
they almost look slightly squeezable

Assuming no new foods/soap/laundry products?

FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:15

no it doesn't look like an allergic rash to me (again I have no idea what i am talking about really)
it looks like spots
have googled measles and scarlet fever and cp and meningitis

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 24/05/2008 22:16
