GP thinks I’m crazy!

Ok so I’ve been having symptoms for years now and been tested for all kinds of things via bloods, stool and urine samples. The only thing that came back positive was low vitD which I’ve been taking daily for months and still don’t feel any better. I’ve got a tugging type sensation in my lower tummy either side of my hips as well as the following symptoms; Headache
Nausea
Severe back/ hip pain
Rash on face & under breast & chest & arm, back of knees on hips and eyes
Bowl issues
Dry sore bloodshot eyes with rash on eyelids
Phlegm
Depression
Anxiety
Fast/ irregular heartbeat
heavy, irregular periods 2 x per month
Pain under right side ribs
Heavy legs
Mouth ulcers
Bruise easily
Dry nose with scabs
Dry sore lips
Random body twitches
Toenails peeling off
Brittle fingernails
Dry hair
Twitch under right eye
Acotites- swollen tummy
Fatigue
Aching joints
I’m at my whits end! The fatigue is the worst. I’ve had to give up work. I wake up exhausted and I’m struggling to carry out daily tasks. Even climbing the stairs hurts! I’ve asked for a gyno referral but apart from that I think they have ruled out everything else. I’m 37 so poss peri menapause but the test they did came back negative for that too! Does anyone else have these symptoms and what was your diagnosis? Thanks

Can you post your actual results- what the nhs is ok is not always optimal.

Have you seen a rheum? Had scans? What else has been ruled out?

I read your list and it reminded me of my list before my Fibro diagnosis. As in, a lot of potentially minor irritating conditions, combined with aches and pains and fatigue. You just don’t know which irritating minor symptoms could be important for a diagnosis.

He’s not wrong about treatment and diagnosis, though I found being on a low dose of amitriptyline or Nortriptyline hugely helpful.

The most important thing is pacing and self care. Pacing isn’t having a rest after a strenuous day, it’s never having a strenuous day.

So treat yourself like a baby- regular food, sleep, naps, exercise. Steady routine. Avoid stress (including excitement). Be nice to yourself- when something hurts, pay attention but don’t get hung up on it.

Happy to talk more if you’d find it helpful.

Thanks so much. It’s just awful not knowing what is wrong it’s frustrating and I feel like my friends & family thing in either crazy/ lazy

sounds autoimmune (lupus?). have you considered your stress levels? they can exacerbate these things.

When your bloods come back are you asking to look at the actual levels?
Because having normal blood results means you are within a range, and anything in a certain range is considered normal, but you could be one number below the normal range and they don't tell you.

Also the "normal range" can change year to year, and is different depending on your health authority.

I'd start with asking for a print out of your blood test results and checking for any that are just below the normal range.

Also, like pp have said, lupus was my first thought. My DD is currently experiencing a lot of similar symptoms and being assessed for lupus.

X posted, just seen you're screenshots.

Have you also seen the blood test results? My GP failed to notice low B12, Vit D, Folate and Ferritin because they were all on the line - the boundaries are subjective. I would see what is obviously low and get injections - I had a vit D injection and it made quite a big difference and you can pay for B12 at some pharmacies.

I was diagnosed with very low Vit D and B12 before Xmas. Had 6 B12 injections and 6 weeks of high-dosage Vit D tabs, then a maintenance dose of each. OP should check with her GP before arranging any private injections or treatment, in case it clashes with any other treatment she has been prescribed.

Op has all the results on the NGS app. That will tell her her exact results.

Fruitytutti223 · 28/03/2025 09:49

A lot of these symptoms could be explained in isolation.

That list is not far off what I felt like in my last pregnancy. Had low folic, low iron, low blood pressure, low immune system and a body falling apart a bit. Plus hyperemisis.

Not saying you’re pregnant but I would look at your vit list. They are the big names but not necessarily the useful ones. Folic was life changing for me when that was low. Heart issues and anxiety gone, fatigue and energy improved. Low iron was causing me mouth spots issues, general tiredness etc. So hard to get iron in it really has to be prescription strength or eat black pudding multiple times a week.

Wishiwas24again · 28/03/2025 09:49

I don’t have a clue , I do have thyroid issues but I don’t have all those symptoms, you have my sympathies as I’m having enough trouble getting proper help , really agree with previous posts saying change your gp , also if you think you need to improve vitamin d you can buy a spray which easier to absorb

Wishiwas24again · 28/03/2025 09:50

Thanks! I’ve asked to see a rheumatologist and gynocologist but he said “I’ll see if anyone is interested” I’ve done another online form this morning so it’s all in writing on my records. I’ve been keeping a daily diary for nearly 2 years now and printed it off and took it to him last time and he just scanned it and passed me it back saying “hmm thanks this is very helpful” I said no I want you to keep that and scan it on my records because honestly there must be something wrong you don’t just feel like this for years for no reason. My life is falling apart it’s awful

Thyroid stimulating hormone , indicates healthy (or not ) thyroid

Very high id say. 4 kids and was working in a high pressure/ stress job but been off since Jan as I’m too poorly. Financial stress from not working as I’m self employed. I do try to reduce stress but obviously easier said than done sometimes. My 3yr old still wakes in the night too.
