Random very painful lumps on vagina

Sadasad · 31/12/2024 14:16

Out of nowhere I have had incredibly painful small lumps on my vulva around the opening, one between my vagina and anus, and one on the opening of my anus. Around my bumhole is also very itchy and sore Blush Nothing has changed to cause this, does anyone have any idea what it could be?

LoafofSellotape · 31/12/2024 15:36

Take some anti histamine and make an appt with your GP. Hope it's easily treated .

Whitegrenache · 31/12/2024 15:37

Could it be herpes? For it to come on suddenly and be so painful?

TomatoSandwiches · 31/12/2024 15:38

You really need to go to your GP or local GUM clinic, no one here can truly help and the sooner you see a professional the sooner it can be treated, it sounds really sore so phone them now.

Wallywobbles · 31/12/2024 15:42

If it's heroes they can only diagnose when there is a dire do go asap

Can thrush cause these lumps?

OP posts:
WetBandits · 31/12/2024 15:58

Sounds very much like herpes (I’m a sexual health nurse and see it every day). Nobody needs to have cheated as it can stay dormant in the body for a long time. There’s no test for it until someone has symptoms, so would never have come up on any STI screens you have had in the past. You do need to be seen though, so either go to a GUM clinic or an urgent care centre.

Unless you've been with him 24/7 and not slept you're making an assumption.

OldTinHat · 31/12/2024 15:59

It does sound like herpes.

The virus can lie dormant.

Mockingjay876 · 31/12/2024 16:02

They will need looked at by a health care professional, it’s impossible for anyone here to say with certainty. Some STDs can be dormant for a long period of time. Being together 2 years and no cheating doesn’t mean there’s no possibility of the problem being an STD.

Sassybooklover · 31/12/2024 16:02

I've never known thrush to cause painful lumps (I'm no medical expert though). My first thought was Herpes, as the lumps can be painful. You need to make an appointment to see a GP/Nurse asap. Take some antihistamine, to take the itch away. No one on here can diagnose you.

Herpes can lay dormant for years, so he could have it and have given it if you, or you could have had it before you got together without knowing, without either of you having been unfaithful in the relationship.

Herpes can make you feel very unwell if it's your first time, but this can be mitigated by taking an anti-viral if you start it soon after onset of symptoms. You should get down to the GU clinic to be seen.

overthinkersanonnymus · 31/12/2024 16:09

Herpes. It can lay dormant for year and flare up if rundown or stressed

fivebyfivebuffy · 31/12/2024 16:14

What kind of lumps? Like spots or boils or sores?

Sadasad · 31/12/2024 16:29

Omg! Okay if it is Herpes, is it going to have really affected my body if I’ve had it for the past few years? I am struggling to get pregnant and I’m scared now it’s because of this?

lalaland898 · 31/12/2024 16:37

Could be Bartholins cyst. They are deep under the skin and very sore. I have had them before and until they heal it is really uncomfortable and they can make you feel unwell and fluey if they get big.

No. Herpes does not affect fertility.

TheMarzipanDildo · 31/12/2024 16:50

If it’s herpes, clinic should give you a numbing cream which is an absolute godsend.

DreamyB · 31/12/2024 16:53

OP definitely get an STI test. The herpes virus can lie dormant for YEARS and flare up when your immune system dips. Does not always mean cheating and people can be carriers of the virus for years. Get it checked and try not to panic, i’m very well informed as a close friend of mine contracted it and was in a total mess (about ten years ago) and now she manages it completely taking antibiotics if she has a flare up and keeping herself rested and healthy to discourage one. xx

This would be my first thought.

Can there be a random flare up of multiple of them? They’re quite small but so painful, and very itchy so I have also scratched it raw BlushSad
