if you're liver and spleen are big then they could be pushing up on your stomach leading to indigestion.
have you tried the anti-indigestions?

NaughtyNigel · 27/04/2008 20:40

cod, have you been gardening? or lifting something heavy?

Cammelia · 27/04/2008 20:45

Did you have blood tests to diagnose the gf?

NaughtyNigel · 27/04/2008 20:45

andrews? bicarb? milk? and sleep fairly upright.

AdamAnt · 27/04/2008 20:46

How about a glass of milk (might neutralise acid). Or munch on a chalk

NaughtyNigel · 27/04/2008 20:46

you don't have a feeling of impending doom do you?

Gobbledigook · 27/04/2008 20:52

Yep gone.

Do you not have a lovely big bottle of gaviscon hanging around from your pregnancy days? (long shot)

Gobbledigook · 27/04/2008 20:52

'you don't have a feeling of impending doom do you?'

Oh don't - I honestly get that and it's blardy horrible.

NaughtyNigel · 27/04/2008 20:53

really seriously that is one of those symptoms of having a heart attack. or a panic attack which is quite scarily similar.

Gobbledigook · 27/04/2008 20:55

Yep, I have panic attacks - heavy feeling in chest and having to take big deep breaths. The impending doom thing I usually get late on in teh day and not necessarily together with the chest thing.

ANyway - back to the fishter - any feeling of impending doom cod?

Cammelia · 27/04/2008 21:00

Cod, are you alright?

NaughtyNigel · 27/04/2008 21:16

am off to bed. cod - hope you are o.k and the indigestion doesn't keep you awake

SlightlyMadSweet · 27/04/2008 21:20

If your liver is enlarged it will be pushing your stomach up like a baby does when you are preg. As a result it could well be indegestion.

OTHO you can't be too careful with chest pain...

What happens when you take a really ott deep breath in?

Cammelia · 28/04/2008 09:17

Have you been exercising at all (gym?)

BecauseImWorthIt · 28/04/2008 09:19

I would try a combination of different indigestion remedies because not all worked for me.

Get some liquid Gaviscon - that is a pretty good bet, but also try some Zantac tablets.

Eat little but often and avoid coffee/caffeine, cheese and red wine.

Prop the end of your bed up (couple of books under each foot) so that you can sleep slightly raised.

I don't envy you - I had a really bad attack of heartburn a couple of years ago that went on for about a month and was thoroughly unpleasant.

It's also triggered by stress, and my GP recommended taking up yoga and/or pilates to help.

Good (about not being allowed to exercise)

Viral infections get better with rest and can be made far worse with exercise

Cammelia · 28/04/2008 09:22

You probably caught the gf from the gym anyway (nasty germ-ridden places)

If you get dizzy or palpitations go to a and e post viral heart things not very nice at all.Although I had an enlarged spleen and it does mimic heart problems
