COULD A 4 MONTH OLD BE TEETHING?

The title says it all

We're just wondering as he seems to try and gnaw his hand off, drooling lots and has bright red cheeks. He seems perfectly happy in himself though.

yes! my dd had her first 2 teeth by 5.5mths!!

yup ...normally starts at 3 months or so .. but you may not see a tooth for months and months

its just the process .. this is where there mouth fixation starts

My 2 month old is the same. Have had 3 people tell me they can see teeth emerging, but I won't have it. No way am I going there!

does dribbling always mean teeth?

My DS is also 4 mo and has been dribbling with red cheeks since 12 weeks. Can't see anything white in his gums and they feel soft.

Both mine had their first teeth at around 3 1/2 months

nope .. DS started dribbling at the required 3 month stage

first tooth didn't come till almost a year

(DD however is much clever .. she now has 2 tooths .. and she's only 8 months )

bf both until at least a year, they used their teeth maybe once or twice just to test (that did hurt) but after that really not a problem, I just didn't feel them. dd had 12 teeth at 12 months and ds 16 teeth by the time I stopped bf him!

personally think its developmental. They all seem to start mouthing and dribbling at that age and they might be like my DS (1st tooth 4 months), DD (1st tooth 5 months) or friend's DD (1st tooth 8 months) but all 3 started this at that age.

I also breastfed DS with a mouthful of teeth. And DD has had her two teeth since the beginning of October.

my 1st had 3 teeth without a symptom at 4.5 mths, the doctor told me when got DS checked for tonsilitis I was stunned...
dd no 2 however her red cheeks, and chomping was for nothing more than fantasy til 5mths
The moving thru the gums is harder than the breaking thru the gums IYKWIM...

Yes, I was born with teeth and my dd had her 1st at 3 months old, now cutting the 2nd one at 4.5mths. Apparently it's hereditary.

cant remember how old my dd was when she got her 1st (bout that age though) but she has 8 now and not even 12 mth old yet!!!
