Was looking at the white spot

Looks like tonsillitis to me. I've had it many times and it looks just like that.

Gargle with very slightly salted water, it will help to soothe it. Don't drink it though, gargle and then spit it out.

So was I. I often get white spots when my throat is inflamed. Do you feel unwell otherwise?

olderbutwiser · 28/07/2024 14:08

What are you worried about?

Have a pain in my neck, loss of appetite, bad anxiety.

I'd take some ibuprofen and paracetamol and go to sleep for nap. You're body needs to rest.

LIZS · 28/07/2024 14:18

What makes you attribute that to more than tonsillitis? Does it hurt to swallow?

Balloonhearts · 28/07/2024 14:21

Yep, tonsillitis. It's bloody miserable. My cousin used to get it over and over and was always really ill with it.

RobertSalamander · 28/07/2024 14:22

If you really don’t think it’s tonsillitis, what do you think it is?

Allthislovelygreen · 28/07/2024 14:25

I had something identical. Dentist said tonsil stone, which was clearly wrong, but it disappeared after a few weeks so I'll never know

wheresthebigcarrot · 28/07/2024 14:29

What do you think it is?

SuperBatFace · 28/07/2024 14:30

You've got a sore throat.

Are you getting help for your health anxiety?

Attictroll · 28/07/2024 18:55

Normal for tonsillitis. I've had them...just rest up and drink loads.

This.

MigGirl · 28/07/2024 19:01

Pain and loss of appetite is normal with tonsillitis. Normally when I get it my throat hurts so much I can barely swallow, your neck may hurt if your glands are swollen as well.

Girlmumm123 · 28/07/2024 19:55

Think my worry is because only the one pus looking spot which I wasn't sure was on actual tonsil

LIZS · 28/07/2024 20:24

Yes. Gargle regularly with sea-salted warm water until gone.

Looks like a tonsil stone or cyst I would say, they’re harmless but unsightly. I had one recently, still have it in fact, months later and it’s much bigger than yours and the doc wasn’t worried. Try not to worry, hard I know.

toomuchtodotoday · 30/07/2024 18:56

It varies. In my experience gargling makes a huge difference, as well as antibiotics of course. Maybe a couple of weeks max. Good luck.
