Groin rash, now rash under boob - connected?

I've been struggling for six months now. Only GP phone appointments available. So I've had different emollients every month which didn't work. So back to sudocreme. Finally got estriol cream which has helped with other issues but not the itching.

Last night in bed found that under my boob was wet and smelt foul. Have showered and put on sudocreme.

Could it all be connected?

Anywhere where skin touches skin is a breeding ground for fungal infections. Try some athletes foot spray on the under boob.

I'm a bit hacked off that in six months I can't get an in person appointment with GP or nurse.

You don't need a GP, the pharmacist would have helped you.

Intertrigo, it's a fungal infection. Get an antifungal cream from the chemist pronto

My pharmacist doesn't have a room as such and I'd die of embarrassment if I had to spread my legs or expose my breasts for him. I'd rather see a nurse.

I used to get this. Canesten cream may help if its fungal. Otherwise, use a medicated body powder to keep things dry after showering or in the heat if you sweat there.

Get yourself some MEDICATED Talcum POWDER. Apply to groin area and under boobs after showering. May need twice daily shower to keep it under control. Also cotton underwear.

Sweat rash treat with Sudocrem. If it’s fungal: Canesten.

I suffered from this a couple of years ago , cleared up with an over the counter cream - lamisil.
I was also found to have diabetes and since that's now controlled I've never had it return.

I've tried both in the last seven months with no improvement.

I was tested for diabetes eight months ago, all clear.

Canesten cream works for me, if I get hot and sweaty I start to get red and itchy under the breasts, Canesten stops in pretty instantly a couple of days. The groin area is the same thing, they call it jock itch sometimes, I assume after sweaty men!

100% sure this will be fungal and you’ll be delighted to know that it clears up really quickly once you start using anti fungal cream. I had it in groin and armpits.

You can use standard athlete’s foot cream. Ask the pharmacist, but the Canesten that includes hydrocortisone is even better to get on top of the itching.

You need some clotrimazole cream from the pharmacy.

Keep your groin and underboob dry and clean, spend as much time bra free as possible and get a bra fitting if you haven't had one recently.

Definitely try athletes foot cream. I'm prone to it in my groin and top of my arse crack (I know, tmi!) but it gets rid of it in no time.

I can't go bra free because the cancer consultant advised me to wear a bra 24/7 because of boob infections leading to me needing strong antibiotics to prevent sepsis.

Not all cannesten has clotrimazole as the active ingredient. Did yours have it in?

I have to fluctuate between sudocrem and cannesten (with clotrimazole). Three days of one before using the other, and repeat.

Why couldn't the GP or a nurse suggest this. My pharmacist is very cautious and tends to advise GP in most cases. I've been refused caneston there if I've used it in the last six months or I'm post menopause.

Sudacrem has no anti fungal or antibiotic properties.
So definitely if there is a sort of cheesey smell and it's red skin , moist and possibly itchy...it's fungal.
If canestan didn't work try daktacort.
Plus you need to shower with no products, just water only. Dry very well and allow air to area as much as you can.

Wet, warm areas are great for fungal infections. As well as treating the skin, don't forget to consider how you wash clothing and bedding, to stop the spread of the infection, so ensuring you hit the issue from all angles at the same time!
