Groin rash, now rash under boob - connected?

justasking111 · 18/07/2024 11:22

I've been struggling for six months now. Only GP phone appointments available. So I've had different emollients every month which didn't work. So back to sudocreme. Finally got estriol cream which has helped with other issues but not the itching.

Last night in bed found that under my boob was wet and smelt foul. Have showered and put on sudocreme.

Could it all be connected?

Are you able to contact a breast cancer nurse team? I'm being treated for BC and they've been really helpful for me.

As you've had surgery etc you could do with specialist advice.

Hope.you.can get it sorted.

justasking111 · 18/07/2024 15:08

I'm so fed up after seven months I can't physically show it to a doctor or nurse. I'm certainly not showing it to a random pharmacist . Apart from you lovely people I'm stuffed. Thank you.

You've been advised to take a photo of the rash (obviously not of your groin) and show it to the pharmacist. Try that.

You really think after seven months of not being able to see a doctor or nurse is acceptable.

Are you a GP or nurse defending this system?

What happens when you phone , they simply say no you can’t see a doctor?

Janieforever · 18/07/2024 15:24

Sorry you’re saying in person, are you being offered video calls? What happens when you ask for in person?

OP I'm not getting the point of your post.

From what I understand, you have a rash and want to get it dealt with. You've been given many ways to deal with it, including taking a photo and showing the pharmacist so you can get some advice.

Now the point of your post is not getting the rash dealt with but complaining about not getting it dealt with.

You need to advocate for yourself and push for a face to face appointment with a GP at your surgery

You get a callback and a prescription. I've half a dozen different emollients in my bathroom cupboard, none worked. I phone once a month to tell them that and am issued something else.

They've never offered a video call. It's a call back within 48 hours.

I'll try this but our pharmacy attached to the GP are really weird. The assistant tells me to see the GP after consultation with the pharmacist.

You can buy it from any pharmacy, just go and buy it.

I'm going to. But resent being in a practice of 12 gps and nine nurses and yet still can't get seen.

Ok, I’m not sure it would be different face to face.

id try another cream. Then apply sanitary towels to the area to avoid sweat getting in it again.

MissMoneyFairy · 18/07/2024 15:44

Have you tried clotimazole cream, its over the counter anti fungal cream for thrush. I get this under my boobts and it clears it up really quickly. Talc will make it worse.

Gribbie · 18/07/2024 16:08

If you don't use bar soap then switch to it for those areas - it is so much better than shower gel for reducing fungal infections. I tried all kinds of treatments but this has sorted my similar (very stuborn) issue.

I've used bar soap for years for this reason.

Off to chemist now, wish me luck 🙏

You don't need to be seen, go and speak to the pharmacist.

ScreamingDelight · 18/07/2024 18:15

Have you had trimovate for it?

being a much larger lady I suffer with this issue between/underbreasts and also under my apron (joys of c-section). I find using medicated talc helps, for my apron I also put some muslin cloth under it to help absorb the sweat and when its clear i use a roll on under the breast area and it does help.

Oldfatandfrumpy · 18/07/2024 19:17

I hope you are sorted now OP but otherwise Nizoral shampoo works wonders (recommended by a dermatologist years ago). Dampen the skin, put some on, leave a minute and rinse off. Follow up with drying the area with a hairdryer (on cool) and follow with talc. Do not use on labia etc, only under boobs and in creases of legs etc

Once it's stopped being itchy and slimy, you can just use sudocrem or mertanium to get rid of the residual soreness
