Virus lingering

Choccymumma · 22/06/2024 13:34

Has anyone else got this virus going round?
I've had it 2 weeks, had headaches the first week, no energy, light headed, nausea. Comes and goes and sleeping lots.
Tested for covid a few times, always negative.
Just a bit fed up now!

Yes.

Very much like this . Plus gastric disturbances.

Blah!

Choccymumma · 22/06/2024 14:02

Ooh yes gastric disturbances for me too. Weird.

I'm absolutely wiped out from it.

Keep thinking I'm fine. But last 24 hours has been the worst even though had some symptoms for about 2 weeks. Had nasty headache from yesterday lunchtime and went to bed about 3/4 hours earlier than usual. Keep having to go to the loo.

Choccymumma · 22/06/2024 16:37

I'm exactly the same, was thinking I'm on the mend and feel awful again. We'll have to compare notes from now on!

tobee · 22/06/2024 17:03

Yes although hoping it'll soon be a distant memory 😀

Choccymumma · 22/06/2024 17:47

Me too!

Yes, had headaches and a terrible sore throat the first week, then thought I was getting better but it turned into a runny cold with sneezing and sweats then going into the second week (day effing 10 now) and feel like I am back to the beginning.

Now I have a massive headache, lethargy and sickness.

Been to the doctor, thought it was Strep throat but it's not. Haven't tested for Covid but can smell so don't think it's that.

I really don't have the time for this as I am self employed :(

Sending everyone get well soon vibes

Choccymumma · 22/06/2024 18:22

Sorry to hear that Patty (great name btw)
Mines like flu, just a general feeling of rubbishness and my energy levels will drain and I'm good for nothing.
I've been off work this week and will have to get a note for next week but thats just how it is.
Take care.

Yes got it now.
No energy funny tum headaches sniffles.

BeBesideTheSea · 22/06/2024 23:16

Me too! It has been going on for over 3 weeks now. I feel better, go back to work, and then a couple of days later am off again.
it is the constant feeling like I am seasick that is really getting me down. I feel fine if I am lying down!

ajanifear · 22/06/2024 23:20

I had something like this end of March / April time. Felt pretty grotty for about 2 weeks in the end, never had real cold symptoms but started with a sore throat and then just very lethargic, no appetite, headache. Then bad tummy, achy, lethargy. Finally felt a bit better and well enough to work properly but it was probably a good month before I was 100%. Seemed to be a bug doing the rounds as many at work had similar. No one tested positive for Covid. I wonder if it was the flu as those of us who’d had flu jabs didn’t get as unwell as those who hadn’t.

Hildegaardofbingen · 23/06/2024 12:44

Yep, I have this too - 8 days in. Headaches, dry cough preventing sleeping, diarrhoea, slight nausea and absolutely KNACKERED, was off work at start of this week but dragged myself in after 2 days, which was stupid as I am back in bed now! So fed up and have no time for this. However, did Covid test yesterday and it was negative! Sending sympathy to all fellow sufferers

tobee · 23/06/2024 13:48

Feel a bit better today but went to sleep very early last night. But don't feel very refreshed. Had a slight feeling of seasickness standing at the basin after I went to the loo in the night

tobee · 23/06/2024 13:50

Just seen another thread like this on general health. But some replies are testing positive for COVID. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Choccymumma · 24/06/2024 18:37

Dont like to tempt fate but feel quite a bit better today, still so tired but not as ill.

I ve just come looking to see if anyone else felt similar! Hello 👋
I started with what I thought was hay fever, itchy puffy eyes, nose and eyes streaming and non stop sneezing..kept up most of that night constantly blowing my nose and sneezing.
Dragged myself to work( SE) but went to bed after tea for 2 nights just feeling out of it.
Thought I was feeling better but yesterday and today, it's that wierd dizzy feeling that is getting to me!...someone said like sea sickness..that's it! Horrible I literally staggered off to the side after getting out of bed this mor ing.

FeckOffNowLads · 25/06/2024 09:42

I have this…. Anybody else in the NW? I feel like I should be testing for Covid. But I’m scared to as I have a lot to do this week…..

FeckOffNowLads · 25/06/2024 09:44

I thought it might be labyrinthitis because I’m so dizzy and few sick and it just comes and goes, and I have a cold and very sore eyes

user1476542526 · 25/06/2024 09:50

I've been unwell for 2 weeks, visited once then extreme tiredness with sore throat, then fever and headache - tested positive for Covid. Have had upset tummy on and off and now a cough. Smell and taste have been absolutely fine. I'm sleeping 10-12 hours a night!!

I'm on the other thread but mine is not covid - tested negative and I just had covid last month so would be unlikely to have it again.

My virus has now turned into an awful tickly cough so bad it made me sick yesterday. Also still have a hoarse voice for the 5th day now. I'm in London and the heatwave isn't helping, feeling really weak now. Absolutely hate this. I've been ill every month since February with one thing or another.

MaryMaryVeryContrary · 25/06/2024 11:32

We all came down with that bloody 100 day cough thing about a month ago, and now everyone is throwing up and has D&V. I feel dizzy, washed out and have a sore throat. The joys…

GoogleWhacking · 25/06/2024 11:37

I have this. Woke up on Saturday having lost my voice and swollen glands/sore throat. Headaches and feeling short of breath when talking. Exhausted. Feel nauseated. Dragged myself to work yesterday (work from home) but today it's all I can do to sit in bed. Also feel really sinusy and have an upset stomach.

Negative COVID test but feels like when I had COVID the first time.

I hope it goes away quickly as I am going on holiday in a week.

Sofabodatgym · 25/06/2024 12:48

I've had this for 2 weeks. Tiredness, headaches, nausea, sore throat, stomach issues, cold sore in my case, general meh.... I'm just starting to feel better today. Have tested neg for covid too. It's been really grim but never bad enough for me to go to bed. So I had to make myself stay in this weekend, not exert myself, to try to shift it. Seems to have worked. It's grim!

tobee · 26/06/2024 13:52

Felt bit better day before yesterday. First day of not feeling exhausted yesterday. Now today in last hour or so feel queasy, weird head. Not so much a headache just odd almost squeezing and not quite right.

Another fun thing that's come back today is needing to go to the loo 4/5 times a day. Not diarrhoea but frequent visits - like everything must go! 😬
