Virus lingering

Has anyone else got this virus going round?
I've had it 2 weeks, had headaches the first week, no energy, light headed, nausea. Comes and goes and sleeping lots.
Tested for covid a few times, always negative.
Just a bit fed up now!

I think I might have this too: body aches that are off the scale, nausea but just on and off so still eating, sometimes upper gastric pain, headache earlier in the week, so tired, on the loo constantly but not full on diarrhoea. Tummy/bowels not happy at all. Started on Monday.

tobee · 04/07/2024 14:20

I had been feeling better but last couple of days felt odd and kept needing the loo. Headache and feeling like I had a virus trying to take hold iyswim

Somerandomgirl · 06/07/2024 16:18

Do you have the nausea and upset stomach too? If not that sounds more like Covid than this virus. Have you tested?

Growsomeballswoman · 06/07/2024 18:03

I have the same but with a racing heartbeat and palpitations. Does anyone have this as well ?

baroqueandblue · 06/07/2024 22:20

Really sorry to hear that so many of you are struggling with a horrid virus, and for ages! Especially @tobee , are you still suffering?

Came on the general health threads just to see if anyone has something similar to me, and here you all are by the looks of it (with a few little variations I guess). Mine started with a v runny nose, endless sneezing and sinusy bad vibes. Was just about at the end of my tether with the constant need for tissues, it was wearing me down after a week. Then in the last few days I'm getting nagging headaches and facial pain, sore dry eyes, feel knackered and quite low, quite achey and look really washed out and tired 😔 Then today I've started feeling borderline shivery/feverish, and the constant nose stuff has subsided a fair bit but what's the betting it'll be back tomorrow?! Really hope not, of course, but even so it's like one horrid symptom goes and another one takes its place. Haven't even been over the doorstep in the last 36 hours, just can't be arsed. Had one particular day where my upper stomach was achey but not had any vomiting or diarrhea luckily. Not tested, no cough, but can't get warm, especially in the evenings (and got the heating on - thanks weather! 🙄)

Totally fed up. Hope things improve for you all very soon 🙏

Walkingbythesea · 06/07/2024 22:24

I have it too. Over a week now but I did test positive for covid first day. Now I’m thinking maybe I had covid plus whatever this is!!

Doingmybest12 · 07/07/2024 05:53

I think I've got the same, I'm through the worst of the cold and upset tummy symptoms but just so tired I could cry. I thought it was my imagination or was lazy or feeling low ,I'm reassured to hear about others experiences.Hope we are all better soon!

Hi @tobee, how are you?
OP here, had a couple of days where I thought it was clearing and now I feel like its coming back or another virus is coming. Still testing negative. Proper fed up now, not doing much and struggling at work. Just about to start week 5. 😔

PattyDuckface · 09/07/2024 04:31

Urgh mine is back too, I posted upthread.
Exactly the same symptoms as the beginning when I got ill in mid June.
A very sore throat, sweats and headache.Feeling crap.

So fed up of this. I missed loads of work because of it.

Squirrelsnut · 09/07/2024 06:22

Me too! Felt like I had covid (didn't), thought I was better, now feel flu-ey and a bit nauseous. So tired too.
I had the 100 day cough thing November to January 🙄

SavetheNHS · 11/07/2024 10:36

Hope everyone is feeling somewhat better. I follow lots of covid scientists on twitter and there is a summer covid wave going on at the moment.
I've just had it too, main symptoms are flu-like, hayfever-like, headaches, sore throat and fatigue.
It doesn't always show up on LFTs and apparently they pick it up best around day 4-5 if symptoms.
Covid also knocks your immune system so you are more vulnerable to other illnesses for several months afterwards.
You really don't want long covid so try to rest as much as possible for 2-4 weeks (easier said than done I know!) to reduce the risk.

Choccymumma · 11/07/2024 16:32

Hi there,
I did wonder if it was covid. I'm on week 5 and while most of the symptoms have gone, I'm so tired, weak and just not right. I'm managing work just about but so fed up and anxious.

This is me, I've just hit day 7 and the nausea is really bad yesterday and today. I thought it might have been all the pain killers, this heat isn't helping the fact I've got a temp of 39.
I'm so exhausted, I can WFH if needed but I can't even lift up my head at times so I'm off work.

Cloud44 · 31/07/2024 14:27

Did anyone have a bad sore throat with this?

PattyDuckface · 31/07/2024 14:48

@Cloud44 yes, one of the worst I've ever had.

Sore throat too. Which weirdly isn't as painful when I'm warmer but when my cold fever kicks in is horrendous. It's only on one side.

The nausea is really bad today still and vertigo. Computer/TV screens are making me really dizzy. (I'll need a break after typing this)
