My little boy was jaundiced at birth so has been shoved full of breast and formula to try and feed him up and hydrate him in his roasting hot room under the lamp. We've been home since last night and he really isn't pooing. Hasn't done since last night. He's weeing, so can't be too dehydrated, do you think it's just the transition between meconium and proper poo? When should I worry? He's eating well...since we've been home he's had at least 40 mls/30 mins breast every three hours. Milk came in today so have had much more breastfeeding and no formula.

It's my understanding that very young newborns do generally have at least one bowel movement a day.

I agree with fingerwoman, give the midwife a shout in the morning. It doesn't hurt to check and they really don't mind you asking.
