Anyone had a virus like this?

Started Tuesday feeling rough and exhausted with a slight cold. Slept for 2 days and cough developed and has got worse. Had a temperature and rash to go with it but that's subsided. Now got a painful sore throat and ears. Cough feels like I have a cobweb in my lungs.
Felt marginally better yesterday but today I feel terrible. Feels like after 4 days of a virus I should be on the mend. Very fed up.
Husband has it but is still managing to be up and about whereas I have zero energy and can't move,

I’m on my way to an and e, I can’t cope anymore I’m getting worse everyday. If I do a stool sample will they test that today or will it take a few days?

Sorry to hear that and no idea re stool sample. If you’ve had pneumonia and cold then your immune system must be weakened.

I’m seeing doctor today had to sort of lie but I do have another worry. Will beg for antibiotics if that might work.

They come and go from sneezing, cough (both those not too bad right now), dizziness, aches, feeling sick etc. definitely a virus and not covid. Stepdad had it when I visited last weekend. Wasn’t in bed so contagious!

Just joining in - commented on another thread. Going in to week 6. GP said viral so no antibiotics :-( and to come back in another 2 weeks if not shifted. I feel like 2024 hasn’t started for me, just feel so down and anxious about it.

Touch wood I think I may be on the mend. Felt dreadful this morning but much better this afternoon. Still coughing a lot, especially at night.

Hope everyone else starts to feel better soon, it's horrible feeling so rotten.

Started with a cough, didn’t really bother me for the first few days. Then felt awful on New Year’s Day and for a week or two was coughing every morning and really breathless every evening. I was exhausted with it. I feel better than that now, but the cough lingers and I have a half hour every morning where I’m just coughing non stop. It’s moved from my chest to my head now so for the last week my ears are popping in and out and nose/face feels full of mucous. I’m hoping it’s moving up and out!!! But at this point I can’t imagine being well!

Kinda comes and goes to better then wiped out.

Well.. this is certainly a giver!! I thought I was on the mend.. nope the awful cold I had for the best part of a week has returned tenfold. I've woken up this morning and my throat is very swollen and I'm coughing up nasty stuff 🤮great.. supposed to be going away tomorrow for a mini break for half term. Feels like my tongue is somehow swollen 🥴 tons to do today .. perfect

Oh god this is what I’ve got… started on Sunday. Shivery, achy blocked nose, heavy sinuses, headache, earache and ridiculous cough.
I’ve got tickets to a fancy do on Sunday 17th, I’m not going to be better by then am I?

Sorry but I highly doubt it. It might also be what they are saying is 100 day cough/cold.

Covid tests may show negative results but it will be Covid.

It's not covid. I tested for 3 days last week and then 2 days this week and not covid. I know if I test again today it'll be negative and I have the most accurate tests for covid too.

I spoke to doctor on Monday and she said this virus isn't covid it's just a common or garden virus but because it's been unusually mild and cold weather in turns this breeds viruses and plus most peoples immune systems are still not back to normal post covid.

It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow for me since I started feeling awful. Due to finish a course of antibiotics tomorrow as it had developed into a chest infection but I'm not sure they've made any difference. Still coughing, breathless and very easily exhausted. The only improvement is that my sinuses have cleared, my throat isn't sore any more and the headache and temperature has gone. But they did say the cough could take weeks to improve.

Are you feeling like massively exhausted? My limbs ache so bad and I feel just weak as anything. All I could manage today was getting my toddler up and fed and then handed over to her dad and went back to bed. Bloody horrible.

Yes. Not as exhausted as I was at the start, I can now get out of bed at least. But the slightest bit of movement or walking up and down the stairs just leaves me completely out of breath and tired. I'm still struggling to get past needing a nap in the afternoon even when I've done nothing.
The aching limbs have gone when I think about it - last week I felt as though my knees had aged about twenty years and stairs were a real struggle to get up and down but actually they aren't hurting now!

Ah that’s good you’re seeing some improvement at least! Such a bugger. I guess I won’t freak out too much yet as I’ve only had it 8 days but was feeling not right for a week or so before. Awful cold symptoms which then morphed into the hell virus. I wake up feeling like the blood supply’s been cut off my limbs until today! Managed a whole hour out of bed today woo, not 😖
