Hand hold while I wait for ambulance for daughter

Currently waiting for an ambulance for my daughter. Been sent as category 3. She's not been right for a few days now, not eating, not drinking, just laying slumped on her bed. This morning she collapsed in the bathroom and went really pale.

She has a learning disability and complex mental health problems so she can't tell me what is wrong as she doesn't verbally communicate when she feels unwell.

She was in hospital a couple of weeks back due to an infection (see previous threads) so I hope it's nothing to do with that.

I'm so worried, I feel sick.

Hope your daughter gets well soon I'd of done exactly the same as you 😊

Cornettoninja · 27/01/2024 19:21

@starsparkle08 if you have suspicions report the bloody post. It’s not for you to go stomping around potentially causing real upset.

goingdownfighting · 27/01/2024 19:21

You've done the right thing getting her to hospital the best way you could and glad she's getting checked out.

No one understands the context of the situation better than you or the doctors on the ground.

Good luck and try and look after yourself the best you can. Will your partner be around to support you soon?

If you suspect someone is a troll then report them instead of making dumb comments.

@StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance will you have to wait for a dr to review the x-ray? I imagine there could be a bit of a wait on a weekend but don’t be afraid to alert a nurse if you think she needs assessing sooner.

He said the X-ray looks fine but he's starting her on antibiotics. I can't remember the reason he said as I couldn't understand him very well but I will ask again.

Any chance you could creep off?

Why would you imagine that? You seem thoroughly unpleasant and don't appear to be very bright.

Cornettoninja · 27/01/2024 19:25

It’s a lot to take in, I’m sure things will be clearer as test results come back.

You don’t have to prove anything to anyone here. Certainly not some random who decides unilaterally to call someone out with nothing more than words on a screen as evidence.

Differentstarts · 27/01/2024 18:23

Your a&e department is right on the ball. Triaged, blood results, speaking to a dr and being admitted all in under 2 hrs on on a Saturday evening thats amazing

Do a better job of the PA troll hunting, you're too obvious.

starsparkle08 · 27/01/2024 17:57

@Flamme the ambulance service attend many calls that don’t fit their criteria . I’m not saying it’s not hard for the poster as it will be but it really wasn’t fitting the criteria for an ambulance

You don't know what you're talking about. And this thread is not a debate. Do you think disabled people are worth less or something?

I have a daughter with very complex needs and she has 2:1 care, 24/7. She sometimes has needed paramedics because even though she has a social worker and an in-depth care plan, she will sometimes stop eating, or worse, stop drinking.

Cornettoninja · 27/01/2024 19:32

@Barrenfieldoffucks not to mention not all a&e’s are equal, they’re not all experiencing battlefield conditions simultaneously across the country. Plus as the OP’s daughter was only in a couple of week’s ago they may have picked up where the previous ward left off.

starsparkle08 · 27/01/2024 19:33

@MyopicBunny
My son is 2:1 and very complex needs so no I don't feel they are worse less at all that's a very easy argument to try to make and you have fallen flat on your face .

Barrenfieldoffucks · 27/01/2024 19:34

Yup, our A&E is often pretty clear. But some posters just somehow what to demonstrate that the OP is either exaggerating or lying. Never let it be said that actually, the OP got there and the actual qualified doctors on scene decided that her daughter was in fact so ill that she needed to be processed quickly. That wouldn't fit with the soap box narrative would it.

Uh no I don't think so Grin- you're the one with a whole load of deleted posts who seems to be enjoying stressing out the OP. Take the hint and leave her alone.

starsparkle08 · 27/01/2024 19:37

@MyopicBunny

You can express whatever opinion you want my son is 2:1 carers and at school . I hope the ladies daughter is ok .

StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance · 27/01/2024 19:38

She's being put on antibiotics for possible chest infection. That was a surprise to me

No-one's opinion on here is worth a damn. Only the medical professionals caring for the Ops daughter.

edited to add- and the medical professionals have admitted her so any opinions that the OP is wasting their time in any way is just ridiculous.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 27/01/2024 19:48

I'm so glad your daughter's getting treatment.

Don't forget to look after yourself, though? You've been through a lot, the last few days.
