Hand hold while I wait for ambulance for daughter

Currently waiting for an ambulance for my daughter. Been sent as category 3. She's not been right for a few days now, not eating, not drinking, just laying slumped on her bed. This morning she collapsed in the bathroom and went really pale.

She has a learning disability and complex mental health problems so she can't tell me what is wrong as she doesn't verbally communicate when she feels unwell.

She was in hospital a couple of weeks back due to an infection (see previous threads) so I hope it's nothing to do with that.

I'm so worried, I feel sick.

Don’t ever feel like you need to explain yourself OP. Your daughter needed hospital care and if you needed an ambulance to get her there end of. Hope she’s feeling better soon x

You’re right Huntingforchickens. Sorry @StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance you’ve got enough on your plate without wading through bullshit to find supportive messages.

I really hope your dd is being throughly assessed and helped Flowers

@starsparkle08
OP's dd had seem the GP but taken a turn for the worse. Both the Ambulance Service and the LD nurse agreed separately the OP's DD needed an ambulance to go to hospital. OP's DD is now admitted to hospital.

So your opinion is meaningless really.

Radiat · 27/01/2024 19:13

OP, I am keeping everything crossed that you have answers soon. It sounds like your daughter is definitely in the right place now. Wishing you both all the best.

Please don’t feel bad about having needed the ambulance, paramedics made me feel bad about calling one for my mother once. It turned out she had a serious (life threatening) health issue going on, and absolutely needed to be taken to hospital ASAP. They’re humans, not oracles with x ray vision.

Justgorgeous · 27/01/2024 19:13

@starsparkle08 The OP doesn’t need to be reminded and if you read the thread you would have seen that her daughter is ill and needs an ambulance.

Op posted under general health for a hand hold. It's not AIBU.
You've made your position clear.

this is not the thread for that. OP posted as she wanted support.

OP, I hope your daughter gets well soon.

starsparkle08 · 27/01/2024 19:15

@BassoContinuo don’t post online then .

MindHowYouGoes · 27/01/2024 19:15

Since the ops daughter has now been admitted to hospital it’s pretty clear that she did need medical treatment

She's already on long term laxatives. Just had a chest X-ray due to the low oxygen.

@starsparkle08 your defence mechanism is ugly af. Just accept that your intervention here isn’t wanted or appreciated and bow out.

Mummyexpat · 27/01/2024 19:17

Hey OP, hope you’re holding up okay. I just wanted to give a hand hold from a fellow mum and ex-EMT. Your crew were bang out of order for saying what they did and not helping you with DD and your things…it’s all part of the job! Re. the O2 reading, there are various things that can cause a false low reading…cold fingers, nail varnish, moving the hand it’s on…etc. If your daughter isn’t breathless and is well perfused (no blue tinge to extremities and/or lips) then it may not be a problem. But, if it is, she’s in the best place! Don’t be reluctant to ask the nurses etc for reassurance and answers to your questions. Sending strength and love 💐

What are you getting out of posting like this?

Strugglingmumof3 · 27/01/2024 19:19

Sending love to you and your daughter.

no one is living your reality so they don’t have the right to tell you whether you need an ambulance for your daughter. You did the right thing for your daughter. I hope she has a speedy recovery x

@StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance will you have to wait for a dr to review the x-ray? I imagine there could be a bit of a wait on a weekend but don’t be afraid to alert a nurse if you think she needs assessing sooner.

Are you enjoying this? You’ve made your point clear, but unless you’ve got a Time Machine up there on your high horse it’s too late now.

So perhaps time to leave a worried mother alone.

StopTheQtipWhenTheresResistance · 27/01/2024 19:20

For those who think I'm making it up....not that I should have to explain myself.

GP treatment on a Saturday afternoon for a young woman with learning difficulties with a potentially dangerous condition for which she has previously been hospitalised? Are you in some sort of alternate reality?

Yes, resources are scarce. You might like to take that issue up with your MP or the Health Secretary, not OP.
