What is wrong with me?!

I've posted here before quite a while ago. But here I am again.
I was wondering if anyone has ever suffered like this before and had a good outcome. Basically:

*9/10 times when I stand up I go dizzy (have been dizzy just sat down but not as often)
*Headaches once week. That literally wipe me out for days
*Ill feel weak for at least half a week

Has anyone else ever had this before? The scary thing is I've started getting tingly/numbness feeling in my right leg and foot. And waking up with the same feeling in my right arm. Also having muscle twitches (not really bad but I can see the muscle twitching when I look). No one has took me seriously until these new symptoms have started. I am now waiting an appointment with a neurologist. I can't bare feeling like this anymore. I have a 10YO and a 1YO. It's exhausting being happy mummy all day when I just want to be in bed all day everyday. It's been going on now for quite a few years. Even worse after having my second baby. Anyone?!

Have you had any blood tests? Ask Gp to check B12 levels.

3ofus3 · 02/10/2023 20:48

Thought I should add - I'm 31 female, Around 9 stone, under active thyroid (managed) had all blood work checked all come back fine!

Under active thyroid, and vitamins, fine by GP i.e at limits of range, not always optimal I have found.

melmonroe · 03/10/2023 00:45

POTS?

melmonroe · 03/10/2023 00:46

Or MCAS

MrsMorrisey · 03/10/2023 00:55

Is it possible you are permanently dehydrated?
Do you have enough salt and minerals?

POTS?

I have been researching this for a while!! It does sound like it could be! When I put it to my doctor he didn't know much about it! Apparently not a lot of doctors do.

What can I do to test if it is my thyroid tho? Take an extra 25mg each day and see if it improves? Bloods did come back ok with that.

Pots or B12, what was your B12 level? Sometimes normal range for NHS is not actually optimum for most.

MrsMorrisey · 03/10/2023 01:08

Muscle twitches could be lack of magnesium

ChubbyChinook · 03/10/2023 01:09

Ask your g.p for the actual blood test result figures. Then you can see where they fall in the ranges.

I wouldn't say I was dehydrated as I drink quite a lot of water throughout the day. I did try those salt tablets for a while but they didn't make any difference either 😞 minerals I'd say average

Hhhmmm. Iodine? Selenium?
Both are needed for thyroid to work well.

I've just gave this a quick google and could be a possibility! I'm not 100% if they checked magnesium when doing my bloods. I'll definitely give my doctors a call in the morning and ask. And if not I'll get that booked in! I'll try anything!

Is lodine a type of aunti inflammatory? And can u buy selenium over the counter? As I would definitely give it a try!

Best to get a magnesium powder that is from a naturopath or health shop because a lot of the over the counter tablets are not substantial and will just give you the runs.
You could increase foods with high magnesium too.

MrsMorrisey · 03/10/2023 01:28

Iodine is found in prawns, eggs and seaweed, good to eat.
Selenium I'm not too sure you'll have to google.
I just know that selenium converts to thyroxine which regulates your thyroid.

I do have POTS in the back of my head. Not a lot of doctors know about it. When I asked my doctor if I could be tested for it he did have to do some research on it while I was there! I'm quite surprised a few people on here have suggested it with it not being very known! I am on the waiting list to see a neurologist. How long that will take I don't know 😩

Cannot believe a dr does not know what POTS is!!

I can't answer that cos I'm in Australia!
I buy sheets of seaweed from the Asian grocery ( make sure it's organic) and eat it as a snack. It's actually quite nice.
Google some foods with the right nutritional content. Good luck.
