Technically you son not have to do anything. However I isolated 3 weeks ago for 6 days when I had it. My husband went to work then he came down with it. We were able to, so we did.

tinytemper66 · 11/09/2023 20:37

Do not have to...

PerfectMatch · 11/09/2023 20:39

Your kids can still go to school. You can isolate if you like but there's no requirement to.

gamerchick · 11/09/2023 20:42

You don't have to do anything. Just focus on feeling better soon.

You don't 'have' to do anything, but probably sensible to stay at home while you're feeling rough. Hope you're much better very soon!

NHS is still to isolate for 5 days, and keep away from vulnerable people for 10 days.

I was ill in bed for a week and tested positive for 13 days. Isolated in a bedroom and no one else in the house caught it.

Luno · 11/09/2023 21:01

NHS advice that should say.

PinkRoses1245 · 11/09/2023 21:02

Do what you want, based on how ill you feel, and bin the tests.

mummabubs · 11/09/2023 21:02

I tested positive this morning.

Gov advice on the website is to stay at home for 5 days. (It's on the Gov website). I'm an NHS employee so have to stay off for that plus need a negative LFT too.

How are you feeling? I'm knackered and don't feel fab, equally I'm grateful that seeing both lines appear isn't the instant panic it would have been in 2020.

mummabubs · 11/09/2023 21:03

You can tell my level of functioning as I've just read my post back 🤣 on the Gov website don't you know! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I've just got over Covid. Felt absolutely terrible for 3 days. Felt OK after 6 days and tested negative on 7th. Kept myself isolated in my room and family left me soup just outside the door - noone else caught it and they carriedon as normal. You don't have to isolate though the advice is 5 days - you'll probably feel ill that long anyway, but I wish you a speedy recovery.

gogomoto · 11/09/2023 21:09

There's no rules but if you feel ill best to stay at home, just like before covid

I had it a month ago, and with that migraine to start. It lasts around 4-5 days max.

I had COVID Monday last week and felt terrible. Once the full body pains eased off I could cope with the other symptoms and look after my 4 year old who also had it.
Keep hydrated and take paracetamol just to get through the worst bit and I hope you feel better soon. I got a negative test this morning.
