Cotton bud stuck in ear :/

I've just got the end of a cotton bud completely stuck in my ear.. it's not visible.. any suggestions what could shift it? Work 8-6 tomorrow, no chance of going to docs..

I did this a couple of years ago, I asked dh to get it out with tweezers for me but he wouldn't - so I did it myself.
HOWEVER I got a horrendeous ear infection that took anti-b's to shift - probably the bud itsemf rather than the tweezer extraction.
If I couldn't get it out myself I would go to A&E.

any alternatives? DS (11mo) in bed and work early. i feel very stupid!! lol

You silly bugger! You have the choice of A&E or out of hours GP clinic if there is one in your area. You could wait till tomorrow night but both will be full of drunks if you do!

If you leave it, it will become coated in wax, block up your ear and probably become infected. It will not be nice or pretty when it comes out either way.

You should never stick anything smaller than your elbow in your ear btw

No alternatives - unless you want to be banging their door down in a few days because you have an infection and your ear stinks.

You need A&E - apart from anything else, you won't be able to see if you've shifted it all if you try yourself.

And in future, don't stick anything in your ear that's smaller than your elbow!

I wouldn't fiddle too much to be honest or you may do damage!

It would just clog everything up and make it worse.

Don't fiddle. Don't shove anything in your ear. Don't try and do it yourself at all - go to A&E or your out-of-hours GP.

Seriously- I know someone who permanently damaged her hearing by getting one stuck in her ear- go to A & E.

Yeah, shove some water or oil in there after all cotton wool buds are in no way like tampons are they? It's not like they swell

If it makes you feel any better, stick a lightbulb up your arse first, then explaining about the cotton bud won't feel so bad
