For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

lol franny.....no

dh is sport mad..runs,swims,cycles..all round athlete

ds is most certainly not following in his footsteps

lullabyloo · 23/02/2008 14:37

I have also much to my misery just moved out of ds's room
and we are both mourning the loss of each other

It's my fault(as ever)
I stayed in there about 3 yrs too long...but now I cant sleep for worry & ds is feeling sad & abandoned

[rotten mother emoticon]

Boco · 23/02/2008 15:34

anti 10/10 got deleted Lully. DD2 is rubbish at peddalling too. How do you spell that? Not the door to door selling pegs type.

I'm going to a BALL tonight fgs. Not looking forward to it really. Going with friend because she bought tickets and her dh is abroad so she's asked me to take his place. I bought a dress in monsoon knocked down to £20 - but just discovered that friend has bought the exact same one from ebay. We will look very silly, in the same dresses - we don't know anyone else on the table we're on.

lullabyloo · 23/02/2008 15:38

oh lol Boco
sorry but that is really quite funny

sounds v.exciting

lullabyloo · 23/02/2008 15:40

i cant spell for toffee at the mo...am too tired to care either

lullabyloo · 23/02/2008 15:42

who & what kicked off the anti thread anyhow? [nosey]

are we very offensive?

anorak · 23/02/2008 15:47

Was there really an antagonistic anti 10/10 thread?

Why would anybody mind a few harmless cabbage-eaters bumbling about not bothering anyone else?

Makes me feel all subversive with my nectarine and mixed fruit and nuts and orange/pineapple/banana juice brunch do you think we should move undercover?

Was it really so anti F&V that it had to be deleted? I'm amazed. What did it say? 'Those bastards smugly eating their carrots and peas...shouldn't be allowed...'

Am intrigued.

lullabyloo · 23/02/2008 15:51

lol anorak
you just gave me a much needed giggle

Boco · 23/02/2008 16:16

No it wasn't just about us, was about all chat club type things. Said it was boring as was just people agreeing with each other. don't know why it kicked off though.

anorak · 23/02/2008 16:18

Well that says it all, doesn't it Boco? People who don't like it when others agree with each other

FrannyandZooey · 23/02/2008 17:37

I think quite a few people have had a wee dig at us from time to time

I can see if you think it is cliquey then it's annoying, and the titles could piss you off bumping up again and again, if you don't find them funny

anyway

am having big cauliflower cheese but with carrots and black-eyed beans mixed in. The cheese sauce is astonishingly good though I say it myself. I made it with Grey poupon mustard [ponce] and about a pound a goodly amount of mature cheddar

LOLOL at anorak's subversive fruity bruch and ROFL at same dresses. Oh god, that is just marvellous. You will look like very odd friends, and everyone will be nervous about talking to you in case you are weird twins or something.

Ahem.

Of course it will all be fine and you will have a lovely time. Of course.

Lully - what is the problem? Is it just making the wretched pedals go round or balancing or what? Does he have a little trike thing with pedals on the front wheel or is this on a bike with stabilizers? Some bikes do require quite a lot of power. Can I help? I am expert on small boys who find it hard to ride bicycles. . . obviously I would rather be expert at something more useful. But there we go.

FrayedKnot · 23/02/2008 19:42

Boco I dare you to wander round arm in arm finishing off each others sentences all evening ....eitehr that or you must not speak to each other all night and keep on opposite sides of room..

Oh dear, well, hope you have a good time, really

I don;t care about the wider MN world really, I sometimes pop out and ask things or post on inane threads when I'm bored...all that hun stuff and everything...

I did laugh at the cat food treasure hunt, gald the cat food was dried

DS wanted to make a sign saying "Cat's NOt Allowed" so our cat would stop jumping on the worktop, we did discuss the fact that cats can;t read, so he said we needed to do it without words and a picture of a digger so she would know not to jump up

LL, DS was quite slow to start pedalling on his trike but then tried a proper bike and sailed off on it...yet I see tiny toddlers beetling around on trikes. It must have to do with their physique as much as anything, I think. There's no right age for this stuff is there, but it's a bit sad he might have been put off.

Tomorrow is cake day, isn;t it

not to be coming this time though.
And Anorak, your feast sounds fabulous and I would be popping round all the time if I thought tht sort of spread would await me

UnderRated · 23/02/2008 20:05

Oh, the kicking is lovely, isn't it?

Enjoy the party, FMV. And the 70 yr old letch And hope the ball is fun, Boco, despite the dresses.

Anorak, your dinner party sounds delicious. I want to come.

Your poor DS, Lully Am sure it will come with time - I think pedalling is quite hard. DS knows how to do it but doesn't have the strength to make them move on his trike. I don't know anything about those community digs. We have a great children's museum here that has an archaeologist area. There is a big pit with a fake dinosaur skeleton buried under lots of bark chippings - they have the little brushes etc so you can 'unearth' the bones. sounds like it might be a bit babyish for your DS but I wonder whether there is anything like that near you? Could you take him to a beach for a spot of fossil hunting?

I can't understand why people are so bothered about 10/10 and other chat threads. If they don't like them, they just don't join in, surely? I like it here - it feels all homely. In fact, when I log on to MN, this is the first thread I check on.

pinkspottywellies · 23/02/2008 21:06

Why is BBB Bbb now? Do you not feel capital at the moment?

My lovely sis is here and we had a lovely walk round the lake at the park today, and a picnic. Lovely lovely.

Bbbee · 23/02/2008 21:15

oh pink you noticed when even I didn;t. I did a paranoid name change to talk to carrot and when I changed it back I must have spelt it wrong.

Are you doing the cakes tomorrow?

I tell you waht, we must never allow those pedant people onto this thread, they would have a field day with me and my cat's.

I had piles of roast parsnips for supper and carrots, cauliflower and sweet potato mash

DH is eating Pringles and the odd one is jumping out of the packet into my mouth

ooh pringles.

Is it me or is bad bad food calling?

it is that time of year surely?

avi - how;s the tooth?

FrayedKnot · 23/02/2008 21:30

Men in black tie make me swoon

I feel it may be a little predictable but I think it harks back to my teenage years when school parties were always black tie for some reason.

Sorry you couldn;t go, Avi

I can be a pedant at times, FK but on here I assume that all mistakes are typos and I am probably one of the worst offenders anyway. Nothing like a hypocritical pedant, is there?

I think this is a bad bad food time of year. I ate a box few pringles this week.

Today: 2 bananas, apple, grapes.

Mmmmmm, men in black tie. Lovely...

Bbbeee, why the interest in expensive wine?
