Fungal toe nail

Has anyone successfully cleared fungal toe nails without medication? I've tried everything but it seems nothing works. The tablets made me very such so had to stop those. Currently, I'm filing them as much as possible and dabbing with Miltons on a daily basis. My next thought I'd to have them removed or at least my big toe nail which is a complete mess!

Might try it myself

I tried it for much more than 3 weeks and it didn't do a thing, unfortunately.

I tried many of these methods mentioned on here with no success, soaking in listerine, vicks, filing and curanail, oils, eventually got a course of terbinafine and within about 2 weeks saw a glimpse of a thin stripe of uninfected nail.
from Memory it took about 8 months for them to fully grow out and that was it, 10 years on I still love having clear nails.
I reckon if terbinafine didn’t work maybe it’s not fungal.

There are 2 types of pill - terbinafine and itraconozole. Depending on which fungal issue you have determines which medicine. The GP or consultant will take nail clippings to go to a lab to identify the correct type.

I had pretty severe fungal toe nails (all 10) for almost 20 years. For me, itraconozole was needed. I had pulse treatment - that is taking for 1 week each month for 6 months. They gradually grew out and several years later are still okay. It also sorted out regular thrush for me too.

As part of the pills I had a blood test to check liver function twice during the treatment…all fine. For me, it was well worth it. If you have severe fungal infection, often the meds are the only way to get rid of it.

I have a fairly mild infection on one toe only and cura nail is doing a marvellous job so far. 2 months in and anticipating it taking several more months for the nail to grow out though! I apply it weekly, filing down the nail each time, and it’s gone from reaching almost to the bottom of the nail, to about half way up. Slow going!

Tried all sorts of expensive potions, filing as instructed, for almost a year with no success.
A friend advised to soak my foot in a bowl of warm water, with epsom salts added to the water, twice a week.
The fungus immediately started to disappear, with healthy toenail gowing through from the base. All gone in the time it took to grow out....a couple of months.
Only my experience, but well worth a try if nothing else works, and a lot cheaper.

I will try this. 4 years into trying everything, including a prescription topical but not terbafine. Another summer with bo sandals except when I hope not to meet anyone 😞
