For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Really? Good for her! I remember I thoroughly exhausted my weak smiles.

ahundredtimes · 10/02/2008 14:11

Yes well it is early days TooT. I think she'd be quite likely to say either 'No, it's a violin' and think them an utter fool and toss her curls in the wind, or say 'Do they look like this? Mum can I have a machine gun please? I'd really like a machine gun, can I have one in a case with yellow fur on the inside too? I'd like to shoot things I think with it, can I have a target too? And someone to pass me bullets and ear muff things and erm. that'll do for now.'

She is quite terrifying at the minute. I am having to rethink lots of things for her, she's just, well, different to the boys in ways I haven't fully worked out.

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2008 14:13

I want to meet Greeny.
And i want a puppy.

I am v broody, having spent last night cuddling and rocking 2 babies.....

Our geusts have all gone now, I had about 4 hours' sleep, We all went on a big hearty walk to the park and joined all th other self-satisfied Sunday park visitors sitting round with ice creams and children and thinking: ''Arent we lucky to live here?''

I am utterly exhausted with the strain of entertaning so many people and ds2 is all: 'can we go on a bike ride now'' (he's fiannly cracked riding without stabilisers and is unstoppable

filthymindedvixen · 10/02/2008 14:37

And I want to come to wiltshire and sit in a leafy glade with Toots.
(tooT I did get yr email but have not been able to find time to listen to the poem thingy yet!! I won't be wierded out, I am bohemian )

TooTicky · 10/02/2008 14:45

Good good

Must rush and hang washing and take ds2 to party and and and

Tatties · 10/02/2008 14:47

My kitchen floor is not great either

100x what a lovely thing to say to your SIL, I bet it meant a lot to her

ahundredtimes · 10/02/2008 15:50

Thank you. You are all being very kind. I do just need to explain though that it isn't that I actually have no idea how to behave wrt other people's parenting choices - it is more that SIL is unhappy, and my saying 'well, wouldn't you like to go out for a day? See a film. Take a break. Have the weekend off? I'll look after nephew' was the wrong thing to say, and then I did a 10/10 consultation and realized that I should be giving her support, rather than offering solutions. And it worked, because then we talked about things more easily.

That was my wordy disclaimer.

BBBee · 10/02/2008 17:16

hello

oh hello 100x

can any of you go here and tell someone how to cook quorn.

I tried to but I was crap and rubbish - go on toot or fk or someone please- it will stop me looking like such a twat!

lionheart · 10/02/2008 17:57

Hello everyone

(and yes, I will come Franny).

OverRated · 10/02/2008 18:09

Hello unofficial Lentilweavers

I think I might try that muesli recipe, Franny. DS only wants to eat cereral all day and I only buy the health-food store high fibre cheerio-type stuff. I think he'd have fun making his own. Thanks for the recipe.

A badly played violin in indeed, excruciating. I am (well, used to be) a bassoonist and I think that is probably just as bad. Fab that your DD actually practices, 100x. We have a Suzuki music school here - maybe I should look into that. I really can't see DS being able to play anything at 3 though.

LOL at doing BF. That's fab! DS asked for some the other morning and he hasn't been BF for almost a year

Mrs Carrot, why have you changed your name back? Hope the beach was fun. I love Southwold.

I have a question about felt balls. Why? What do you do with them? I've never done it but am tempted...

BBBee · 10/02/2008 18:11

we went to forset school thing today so am feeling all radiant or radient - no radiant.

carrots x3 raw
cucumbeer
apple
orange
carrot and lentil soup

so 8.

OverRated · 10/02/2008 18:24

What's forest school thing?

FrayedKnot · 10/02/2008 19:03

Hello everyone

I drank vodka, and did lots of sharing and went to bed at 2, on the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in...but it was a good night

Then took DS swimming, it was the best cure for lack of sleep and slight hangover , then went to the park next to the gym and it was 17 degrees and so gorgeous we came home and had lunch in the garden. Very odd weather for February though.

F&V consumption today has been laughable, I have eaten huge amounts of toast and jam and about 0.2 of a carrot.

I can;t play any musical instruments as I refused to learn anything as a child (despite the opportunity) and I really regret it.

I am so of palying the violin. I love classical strings in anything and fiddle esp. irish music.

TooTicky · 10/02/2008 19:05

Bee, tell us more about the forest school please.

(I don't do quorn because it has eggs in)

Hello OR How is your weather?

TooTicky · 10/02/2008 19:07

Hello FK
I used to drink vodka. Many years ago.

BBBee · 10/02/2008 19:16

forest school type thing is thi kind of family outing adventure outdoors type place. It is very rough and ready adn we love it - have been going for years.

On the whole week in the summer you do pond dipping and shelter building and campfires and tracking and bug identification and and and - oh it is bliss!!

Today we did a scavenger hunt type thing, some family team building games (sound naff but was great - imaginary swamps and crocodiles) and made a pot to plant bulbs in.

DS & DD spent all lunch time in muddy swamp and climbing log piles - was the most beautiful day.

FrayedKnot · 10/02/2008 19:19

I am not a lentil weaver..

I like heels and glittery eyeshadow

And sometimes straighten my hair

I think those things probably negate the bf (well in times past), 10/10, bean burgers, and trying to be greenish

FrayedKnot · 10/02/2008 19:22

TooT vodka is the only alcohol I dare to consume these days, and only pretty rarely, but I did have a teeny glass of champagne last night too...it would have been rude not to

TooTicky · 10/02/2008 19:33

Bee, that sounds fantabulous. I suppose it's miles away...

FK, I only drink cider now, and that v. rarely.
Was it you who mentioned chickpea fritters? If so, can you elaborate please?

FrayedKnot · 10/02/2008 19:45

Think squashed felafel, TooT

Pre-cooked chickpeas, minced onion & garlic (gently pre-fried), bit of fresh coriander maybe, possibly some middle eaternish type spice arrangement, salt & pepper, then I put the mixture in the food processor for a minute or two...make little squashed balls, coat with a bit of gram flour, and shallow fry...or you can oven bake them.

DS loves them.

TooTicky · 10/02/2008 19:46

They sound yummy

BBBee · 10/02/2008 19:53

oh yhes they do sound rather clever!

FrannyandZooey · 10/02/2008 20:02

FK are you coming to the meet up? I am going to book it in a minute so please anyone last minute do tell

I like glittery eyeshadow and straight hair and heels and all those things but I also do breastfeeding. You don't have to be braless in sandals to weave the lentils

Dp made an enormous stir fry and I couldn't eat it. It really turned my stomach actually which was crap as it would have been my major consumption of vegetables for the weekend. But it was HUGE and mostly consisited of noodles and beansprouts and spaghetti squash, so it was very beige and stringy and odd textured.

I said I was not very hungry then ate cheese and biscuits when he was upstairs with ds

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 10/02/2008 20:05

Oh I forgot to say, I am very sorry, but I don;t think I will be coming to tea, after all MrsC and Franny.

We seem to have lots of rather expensive things going on atm and I am slightly panicked as it is..DS' birthday, then Easter, then DH' birthday, and promises of big boys bikes and cabin beds (scouring e-bay but not getting anywhere)

Thos are for DS btw not DH, he wouldn;t fit in a cabin bed

I am very sorry, I should have loved it, but looking forward to something in the summer
