For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Happy Birthday to F.

Happy Birthday.

It is a day to celebrate MrsC. I always thought my head came up above the parapet at one.

Boco · 20/01/2008 22:51

You've got a good memory 100! Yes, got shown around by a white witch who said we'd be the best of friends. Did put me off.

Isn't mega still a bit 80s, what is it now, I know a teenager who says things are boss, but that might be a northern thing.

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 22:52

[goes to view sleeping form, considers possible dudness]

Am off to bed. Sleep well all.

MrsCarrot · 20/01/2008 22:52

Yes, it does I think, and it's all a bit bright.

Good though.

Boco · 20/01/2008 22:53

How could the dog be a dud? In what way? You mean he can't swim? All spaniels are thick aren't they?

MrsCarrot · 20/01/2008 22:54

One of the first people I met at art school was a white witch. She did lots of installations with salt circles.

I went to her wedding this summer and we had to jump over broomsticks and then there was tea in the village hall. It was very nice.

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 22:54

Oh I'd expect ds1 to be VERY eighties. He also says wicked. But not often. He mostly says 'technically speaking' about all sorts of untechnical things.

'Technically speaking I should have my pocket money now because I have tidied my room' and 'technically speaking some of the stars that we can see, might not actually be there.'

He might be a dud too.

Boco · 20/01/2008 22:55

I think you must mean dude.

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 22:56

He has red eyes, I mean the whites of his eyes look a bit red. And they shouldn't be. And I googled it. There are endless lists of cocker malfunctions.

I don't mind him being thick, because he is amiable and that is better than brilliant and neurotic - but if he has this ingrowing eyelash thing it's a bore, and needs to be operated on.

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 22:56

Technically speaking it is almost eleven o'clock and I must go to bed.

ZippiBabes · 20/01/2008 22:57

so nice u folk r weirder tan me

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 22:58

Technically speaking cocker spaniels which are bred from the working strain are not at all thick. They are obliging, working dogs. They are easy to train and submissive and willing.

BBBee · 20/01/2008 22:58

JJ isn't a dud, of course he isn't - he sounds wonderful adn he comes for the spoiling kissing lady and she has most likely examined him very careful and knows he isn;t a dud. She wouldn't have said that "Oh you will be perfect for him" thing. JJ is wonderful. What are you feeding him? I hope it is a bit more normal than poached quails eggs and sour cream or whatever it was before.

Franny have you ever taken drugs?

Zippi I did go to brighton - I so did - I loved it - I still do.

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 22:59

But JJ is from the 'show' strain. [ponce] [dud ponce]

I MUST go to bed.

MrsCarrot · 20/01/2008 22:59

ah, you are defensive of your dud. You have bonded.

Boco · 20/01/2008 22:59

Oh dear, poor JJ. Have you been making him read late into the night? Have the children made him star in musicals under bright lights at all? If not, he may be a dud, but a fixable one so that'll be ok hopefully?

I did my tax return, I feel relief.
Good night x

BBBee · 20/01/2008 23:03

maybe they are hothousing JJ with all this late night reading and show perfomances and special diets. He probably is doing latin and weaving in the tomrrow.

ahundredtimes · 20/01/2008 23:03

BBee I fear she examined him very carefully and then took my cheque, and kissed me at the door and slammed it shut and kissed the cheque.

Let's not worry about it. I feel surprisingly bonded to JJ.

BBBee · 20/01/2008 23:04

well done on tax return - well bloody done.

Carrot - agree with 100, is a real milestone for you too. You must have champagne and take a few moments to congratulate yourself on how wonderful he is and how wonderfully you have done through the past year. IN a happy way.

BBBee · 20/01/2008 23:06

no 100 - she was wonderful and honest and tweedy and ruddy cheeked - I know so as she is like that in my head. When she shut the door she looked at the cheque and sighed and had a tear and looked at JJ's mummy and sai "You know I would keep them all if I could" and then she had a stiff gin.

onebatmother · 20/01/2008 23:08

i missed tooticky's turn turn one, very lovely. she got mislaid. Well done ticky!

'i once had a friend' is best approach for all drug/sex questions i think.

as long as rest of sentence isn't 'who died of sex'.

or 'who took loads of drugs, was totally fucked the whole time, then became prime minister'.

onebatmother · 20/01/2008 23:11

MN should consider speed cameras. this thread moves astonishingly fast.

onebatmother · 20/01/2008 23:14

or... vaaairy ... sloooowlyyyy.

TooTicky · 20/01/2008 23:25

It moves v. slowly when I am here, then the moment I leave everybody sneaks in the back entrance and yabbers away

TooTicky · 20/01/2008 23:30

Look, I ought to say, to meet or not to meet.....
I got the impression that some of us are skint atm so maybe it would be better to arrange an official, good weather, possibly picnic-style meet up later in the year.
Obviously, anybody who wanted to meet sooner could still do that, with or without children/champagne/garlic.
I am more than happy to arrange/co-arrange the later-in-the-year one, but for the time being I am in the skint category. And I don't think we could manage an outdoor one just yet, what with the month or more of rain that we have been promised.
So I'm not arranging anything right now.

Love you all
