That's it really

I am a bad mum and sent him to school this morning. He got up and said he had a headache but was happy otherwise. By 10.30 he was in tears and I left work to collect him.

He has been floppy and hot and his head and neck hurt, and he doesn't like light (though he still wanted the telly on )

He is asleep but unhappy

It has been really hard coping with him and his teething sister

Just come and pat me on the back please??

Fingers crossed

noughty · 07/01/2008 23:03

Please go to A&E.

berolina · 07/01/2008 23:03

A&E or 999 now. Please stop procrastinating.

Elibean · 07/01/2008 23:05

I'd go. Especially if 'doesn't like the light' is more than an irritated 'go away Mum I've got a headache' sort of not like.

But I'd go anyway, I'm afraid. Just not worth risking.

Am thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

LittleBella · 07/01/2008 23:06

Norma FGS.

Get on with it, the out of hours doctor will simply tell you to go to A&E. Don't wait for his/ her "permission". You're not being hysterical, you're not being over protective.

If it's not serious, all you would have lost is a decent night's sleep. Worth it, imo.

How are you justifying being sat at home when your son is potentually seriously ill? You've asked for advice and been told the same thing over and over. Take your son to the hospital. It is your responsibility as a mother.

berolina · 07/01/2008 23:08

yes, she's a regular, lisalisa.

Norma - go/ring 999 PLEASE.

Monkeybird · 07/01/2008 23:09

berolina · 07/01/2008 23:12

The thing is with meningitis (which we all hope it isn't but we DON'T KNOW at this point) time is of the absolute essence. I wouldn't be waiting for a callback. I'd be out of there.

SorenLorensen · 07/01/2008 23:13

Best of luck, Norma - will be thinking of you.

Monkeybird · 07/01/2008 23:13
