Awful virus!

Is anyone suffering with an awful virus at the moment? It’s absolutely knocked me for six, awful constant chesty cough, sore throat, constant headache , teeth and sinus pain (/agony!) and ulcers on my tongue. It started on Friday and I’ve just gradually got worse- now starting with stomach pain and going off food/ feeling sick (not pregnant)
Obviously done a PCR Covid test and that’s come back negative.
I know there were people saying there was an awful cold going around about a month ago- maybe I’m late to the party but jeez…I feel horrendous!
Does anyone else have the same?

@AnyFucker don't laugh, but I saw a very experienced osteopath who was able to do something magic with the pleura - realign them or something - which sounded bonkers but pain massively decreased 🤷🏽‍♀️ same day. She called it visceral work, so not standard osteopathy or cranial osteopathy, but she is trained as an osteopath; this is from post qualification learning.
Anyway, stopped hurting to breathe or speak. That's all I care about in the end!

Yes the lingering gunk is getting on my nerves! I've finished a week of antibiotics as it turned into a chest infection but can still feel it on my chest - so awful.

Yes!!! I’ve got this now. Multiple negative Covid tests. What is this… the dreaded flu??

I’m on day 5 now and have just spent the morning in bed. So much green gunk coming out of my chest and nose. When will it end?!

ah, I think I might have found what's going on with me too... had been convinced it was covid, lateral flows negative (and can't get out for a PCR, of which there are none available apparently anyway).
But, banging headache, sinus pain, nausea, diarrhoea, limbs aching, night sweats 😫.
This is horrible, I hardly ever get ill

Yes I think a lot of us thought it was Covid, mainly due to the cough.

I have never had a so-called 'cold' like this in my life, and every Covid LTF negative result was met with disbelief. I was certain I had it.

But no. Just the virus from hell - one that put me out of action for three weeks, the first two being basically bedridden or on the sofa. Third week I was up and about, but not great.

I feel like I'm finally out the other side, but I sympathise so much with those going through it, because it is so debilitating. They say it's nothing special. It's not a super cold, It's not stronger or more virulent that any other cold virus, it's just that we've all been protecting ourselves for the past two years, so our immune systems aren't as efficient with dealing with viruses. Maybe, I don't know. I just know I've been ill for three weeks with something nasty, and I'm just so grateful to be feeling better!

What I'm experiencing sounds like your symptoms but I don't have a cold or cough. Had a horrible cold the other week but this is like you said, banging headache, sinus pain, nausea, diarrhoea, limbs aching, night sweats.
I'm so fed up of being ill!

I've actually just taken another lateral flow and it's COVID after all!

My lingering gunk is finally moving and it is poison! Makes me choke and keeps catching me off guard. It actually burns my throat. Goodness knows what it is!

Still got one 3 weeks later , definitely not covid had 3 pcrs. Keeps starting to get better then gets worse. Today nose started running. Lft negative, really can't ge bothered to go for yet another pcr

So after 4 weeks I am finally better.

No more symptoms apart from a slightly annoying cough in the night occasionally (when I think the lingering gunk collects on my chest).

To anyone who gets this non-Covid mega lurgy cold from hell, you are likely looking at a month from start to finish. From my first symptom of a sore throat, to my last symptom of a slight cough, it's been 28 days.

So after 4 weeks I am finally better.

No more symptoms apart from a slightly annoying cough in the night occasionally (when I think the lingering gunk collects on my chest).

I was exactly the same 3 weeks until I stopped coughing and then another week to fully get rid of the headachey / sinus pain so it was 4 weeks for me too. I honestly thought I wouldn’t see the end of it!

12 days in for me. Sinus pain is finally going now I’m on antibiotics. Still getting headaches in the morning but gradually they’re getting better. Got an annoying cough now from post nasal drip. Praying I’m better for Christmas Day!
