DanJARMouse ,
if he is still weeing and pooing then he is getting enough but i would just take your lead from Daniel and feed him every 1.5 hours if that's what he wants-just remember to look after yourself too if you are feeding more and sleeping less

you're doing really well(i remember feeling really proud when i fed ds and it was all down to mn and help i received as i didn't manage with my dd and didn't know about mn)

keep going xx

pleased to hear he's ok xxx

hertsnessex · 09/12/2007 22:43

a humidifier is recommended - i.e. you can even just keep a wet towel on the radiator. but as the room should be fairly cool anyway i shouldnt think you need yo do a thing.

do hope he recovers soon.

the feeding sounds perfect to me, you are doing the right thing and if he seems happy aswell then thats great!

you need to get a vicks or sudafed vapouriser type thing. also put a bowl of water with olbas oil in it over the radiator.

Carbonel · 09/12/2007 23:15

Glad he is on the mend; my ds had something similar at 3 weeks and was hospitalised at 9 mths with bonchiolitus He is now a strapping 5 year old

One thing that helped him breathe was taking him into the bathroom with a hot shower running - all that steam really helped.

Hope he gets much better soon

Carbonel · 09/12/2007 23:18

Forgot to mention - his feeding dropped right off too for about a week whilst he recovered.

You may want to think about expressing to keep up your supply - I wish I had as it was much harder to build it back up again once he was on the mend and guzzling away!

Just found this thread, I am absolutly shocked and disgusted that it took so long for an out of hours doctor to ring back about a 9 week old baby with breathing difficulties! I am sooo happy that he is OK though
