For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

JustPossum · 23/11/2007 22:36

oh crikey 100x, this is MNet, it is all chit chat in cyberspace and utterly meaningless diversion of an evening, of course I wasn't offended! genuinely interested in others' points of view but not at all offended.

I once did flounce out a church hall in heels. I skidded on the zealously polished parquet and shot out backwards and sideways into a lurking mop cupboard. I was half weeping with pain from a barked shin and half weeping from crazed hilarity at my idiocy.

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:38

i ate an apple btw

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:38

Was it a scary toddler group Possum?

ahundredtimes · 23/11/2007 22:40

lol Possum. I think I did much the same. I ended up skidding into Slubbers christmas pudding thread, and now I'm all committed to making one and I've never made one before.

Right. Then I just need to know how Avi feels about it.

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:40

I ran away from a toddler group once. Looked around, scooped up dd1 and ran

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:40

oh and a baked potato fr lucnh with peas and swetcorn

fabulosi kitchen in a very high gloss plastic way but with a walnut worktop of course

ahundredtimes · 23/11/2007 22:42

I might still flounce TooT. I am in flat shoes and I have Taken Umbrage. [nose in air]

I don't think I could stay anywhere where disagreeing is banned. I'd have my fist permanantly in my mouth to stop myself talking, and then I'd get hungry. And I'd look so ugly.

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:44

Oi, that is my umbrage. Give it back!
I keep meaning to dig out your email address. I should reimburse you postage costs.

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:45

umbrage is that like darker than yellow ochre

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:45

So do you cook your plastic food in your plastic kitchen, Zippi?

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:45

when i was t school u had to learn those things

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:46

That's burnt umbrage. Raw umbrage is better for you - more vitamins.

ahundredtimes · 23/11/2007 22:46

Nah, don't worry TooT.

[waits for Avi]

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:46

yep i am 100% 2007 bad mouse

JustPossum · 23/11/2007 22:46

TooT - All toddler groups are scary to me, full of ernest bustling women getting infants to glue things and sit in circles and sing things and eat horrible cheap and toxic biscuits. DS just wants to chew the radiators and bounce around patting the toy kitchen. People keep kindly sitting next to me with their cups of tea as if to include me in the group and eventually I had to say, "look, I'm exhausted, I come here for DS to interact with other kids and to enjoy different toys. I am not physically able to string a sentence together right now. Please would you mind if I just sit here in pleasant gormless silence?"

I wish there was a Franny-like heuristic play and silk parachutes group near me. No such luck.

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:47

Sure? It was quite a lot.

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:48

we call it the dolls house me and dd1 are competing with who is going to be allowed to live there but neither if us can afford it

ahundredtimes · 23/11/2007 22:48

Yup, honestly it's fine. Forget it.

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:49

It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Smiling faces I can see
But not for me
I sit and watch
As tears go by

My riches cant buy everything
I want to hear the children sing
All I hear is the sound
Of rain falling on the ground
I sit and watch
As tears go by

It is the evening of the day
I sit and watch the children play
Doin things I used to do
They think are new
I sit and watch
As tears go by

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:50

Oh Possum! At the one I ran away from nobody was friendly. They didn't just ignore me, they Looked at me and then ignored me.

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:51

Thanks 100x

TooTicky · 23/11/2007 22:52

Zippi, that is very sad and not at all pro-active.

zippitippitoes · 23/11/2007 22:55

ah well i still like it...sadly dgs did ask where my ex was tonite

it'sd the first time he has asked me

i said he was driving his rtaxi

poor dgs moved out last weekend..think he is wondering wher ethey are going

JustPossum · 23/11/2007 22:55

Oh Zippi, are you feeling sad?

TooT, the local group is well-meaning and kind, it is a good place for DS as a first born to get used to a bit more noise and push/shove/share/negotiate over time. I just long, like LL longs for her dream cafe, for a play group without plastic, beeping, lurid-coloured toys, biscuits stuffed with E numbers (have to check packets because of DS's severe skin rashes) and well, how do I explain it, group leaders who don't exude magic or excitement, just hum drum "let's bash out a nursery rhyme or two then push on to cups of tea and adult chit chat". I continue to dream....
