I feel like total shit

Pain everywhere and exhausted

Is it a coincidence? Can I do anything to help?

I'm 3 weeks on from my 2nd, and still feeling horrendous - my whole body aches, especially my hips and I'm popping painkillers like smarties. I went to bed in tears last night and couldn't get comfortable for hours.

I had the AZ by the way.

Orf1abc · 08/06/2021 09:35

Lots of people (mainly women) have reported a similar reaction, including those without underlying conditions. Manage it as you would when you have a flare up, pain relief and rest. Also report it via the Yellow Card reporting scheme.

Orf1abc · 08/06/2021 09:37

That's not meant to sound unsympathetic. I had the same reaction (plus insanely bad headaches) after the first one. It took weeks to go back to normal.

Gothichouse40 · 08/06/2021 09:40

Unfortunately women in the main seemed to have been unlucky re side effects to the vaccine. I agree with previous poster, Yellow Card Scheme for reporting them all. Ive already done this. I had a terrible time for approx 8 weeks with the first vaccine. It will improve. Take it easy and just rest if you can.

randomkey123 · 08/06/2021 10:04

I will report today, I'd forgotten you could do that.

KatyMac · 08/06/2021 12:44

Gosh!

It's kind of reassuring it's not just me; as often I am told it's in my mind Sad

Yellow card on the way

The pain is awful - yes with the painkillers but I try not to overuse

My face aches, my skin is sore to touch, my muscles feel like I've been working out big time, I have a splitting headache that has lasted for days and I am feeling totally sorry for myself

My second Pfizer jab triggers my MS to flare up for a couple of weeks.

KatyMac · 08/06/2021 18:44

It's a bit pants!

A splitting headache that has lasted for days following AZ? Should you be seeking medical advice?

Lalliebelle · 08/06/2021 18:47

Oh sorry, it was someone else who had AZ. Which did you have?

bleughheadache · 08/06/2021 19:10

Very likely OP

Do look after yourself

I have had a 9 week (and counting) continuous headache from my first AZ vaccine.

@Gothichouse40 did you have your second vaccine - how where you after that?

Justa47 · 08/06/2021 19:22

@KatyMac

Better to ask your GP than on here don’t you think?

MonopolyBoot · 08/06/2021 19:28

I am a few weeks post second AZ and have had really bad nerve pain down one side of my face just in front of the ear radiating down for a a few days now. It came on so suddenly at the weekend.

KatyMac · 08/06/2021 19:36

I saw a gp last week

My blood pressure is perfect 110/60 (which is slightly high for me) blood tests today

It was astra zenica but the gp feels it isn't concerning

I'm four months and one week in to long COVID post Pfizer shot number two in January. I'm a RN and trusted the safety of the vaccine. Three weeks later I had high fever, tachycardia, fatigue, headache, you name it. For five days my fever was 102 F. Since then I had thyroiditis, elevated liver enzymes, inflammatory markers thru the roof, and now hyperglycemia. I've seen my primary doctor, immunologist, cardiology, and critical care doctor. Yesterday my pulse was highest at 107-best vital sign since this began. I've been on more Rx than I've ever been. I've never tested positive for COVID so the doctors are certain it's the vaccine. Long story short yes the vaccine could trigger preexisting conditions. Best of luck

GlutenFreeGingerCake · 08/06/2021 19:51

I have sciatica and I had a really bad attack soon after my jab but I can't be sure it isn't just a coincidence

KatyMac · 08/06/2021 21:07

Based on previous experience all my bloods will be just within the ranges and ill get offered antidepressants Grin Hmm Confused

peonyrose87 · 08/06/2021 21:13

@bleughheadache I'm sure you already have it it's when on that long, but I hope you've spoken to your doctor about the headache!! I had my second AZ vaccine today and was advised any headache that lasts longer than two days must get checked out

Athinginitself · 08/06/2021 21:17

1st Pfizer triggered a really awful ME relapse which lasted 2 months, 2nd one nothing (other than a couple of days of feeling a but rough)

KatyMac · 08/06/2021 21:38

I suppose it could be my ME but the pain made me think FM

Mind you my IBS has been set off again so.....

Poop! I have too much to do!

A friend of mine is really struggling after her AZ, 2 months on and she’s in constant pain everywhere, and exhausted, feels totally drained. She Was completely fine before the vaccine, I know she’s considering not having the 2nd.

Mrs08 · 08/06/2021 21:43

Hi @KatyMac
Sorry to hear you are suffering:(
I also have FM and am really having bad rib pain ATM especially on my right side (I'm right handed)
I'm starting to wonder if this pain isn't FM at all but something else:(
I had the AZ and no issues other than a sore arm

KatyMac · 08/06/2021 21:49

un-MN hugs to everyone feeling poorly

Yes I have rib pain both sides and sore, oh so sore arms below the elbow and feet and neck and should and .....well I won't go on (liar liar pants on fire going on is all I am doing right now Hmm)

Maybe it's a non-specific auto-immune thingies as we have FM and IBS and CFS/ME and MS

Bugger

OP posts:
Mrs08 · 08/06/2021 21:57

I'm sorry to hear that :(
Mine is really starting to affect me day to day
I'm taking a lot of ibuprofen which isn't ideal:(
