For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We're not allowed to discuss details on the thread in case scary outsiders gatecrash. I'll try and find your email address.

MrsCarrot · 13/11/2007 11:27

LOL Aitch, I see what you mean about the line of stars making your eyes bleed, it does look a bit like barbed wire.

Toot - Why are you waiting till 8pm, is that when you booked your train back? There will be some museums open in the afternoon won't there?

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 11:29

I hate that tool bar thing, stuff like that makes me shriek until someone fixes it

Possum can you tell us about ds's leg? We will miss you at the meet.

TooT we will sort something out, you can hang out in our hotel room for a start - we will not be using it or putting ds to bed till around 7 or 8 pm anyway I don't think - you won't be out on the streets even if we can't find anything more entertaining for you to do.

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 11:30

oh and most museums open until 6 pm

lullabyloo · 13/11/2007 11:36

shame London Transport museum doesnt reopen till 22nd Nov ....it's supposed to be amazing now..ds would love it

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 11:41

Oh that is a shame LL.

Thanks Franny I sort of had visions of us going round and round the circle line for a couple of hours

Yes, I was looking at prices of tickets more than times [rolls eyes at self]

Tatties · 13/11/2007 11:43

Oh really LL? We had that pencilled in, ds would love it too I think

frothykindofadrink · 13/11/2007 11:44

oh ticky don't worry I was only being nosy

am very about the whole thing

however I have done London enough now thanks to trips to the Bobath Centre for Cerebral Palsy with dd and it is hard work so maybe not that

it is so much cosier here in bed

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 11:47

Oh, thank goodness! We bought dd2 some little boots on ebay for a penny and they have just arrived. Dd2 declares them comfy.
The paper fastener repair on her other shoe was not 100% reliable.

TooTicky · 13/11/2007 11:47

I have emailed you Froth

FrannyandZooey · 13/11/2007 11:54

I am sure we will have another one soon. If anyone is still speaking to anyone else

Morning old fruits.

Status report this morning:

Diet: 1 banana, 1 satsuma, 1 meusli (uninspired, me?)
Exercise: schedule says 6 miles relaxed. Raining and cold though, doesn't look like fun.
Emotions: chiefly . Frothy is in a warm bed . Possum achieved 50 on FreeRice and then asked for more!!!! . I have been peaking at 49 for ages then keep messing up and plummitting back down to 46. V frustrating, but good for filling rice bowls.

lullabyloo · 13/11/2007 11:59

I have to face the cold & rain again & go & pick ds up
Where has the time gone this morning?I've somehow managed to dither away 3 whole hrs

MrsCarrot · 13/11/2007 11:59

Of course we will still be speaking, Franny!

I am making miso, barley, carroot, onion, celery, swede and mushroom soup to atone for my sins. I am also listening to my new Devendra Banhart cd that I got for my birthday, it's a bit more dub than the others but still surreal and swayey.

I love it being cold out when I am in.

IdrisTheDragon · 13/11/2007 12:05

Have got DS from pre-school and the pre-school photos have arrived . They are very lovely (both DS and DD doing lots of smiling ).

DS and I are going to the London Transport Museum as his birthday is the day it re-opens . We are both looking forward to it. A Lot .

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 12:12

Oh yes, I remember going round the transport museum with the ds's.

Am eating quite well. Lots of satsumas natch, yesterday miso soup lunch and beans and then casserole for supper, with leeks and carrots, onions, mushrooms and all sorts in.

I made the flapjacks too. Packed with cranberries, apricots, raisins, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. I was v. proud, but then felt a bit deflated because the dcs came back from school and ate the lot, whumpf, like that, and they were gone. And that was that.

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 13/11/2007 12:21

Did you want to frame them, 100x, the flapjacks?

Did you make your miso soup? I am trying to recreate the one I had in my bento box in the japanese. I have added a small bit of it before but not lots. Today I want it to be very miso-ey

MrsCarrot · 13/11/2007 12:24

and anyway, I am getting the credit for the miso soup today. Don't waft on here and try and sneak in how you had it yesterday.

ahundredtimes · 13/11/2007 12:26

Oh dear no, sorry, I opened a packet and added hot water. Is like drinking stock really isn't it, with seaweed in the bottom and random bits of tofu.

Frame them? That's an idea. I don't know they just went so quickly, and then they all started licking their lips and opening the fridge and looking for more food. I thought they could have been a bit more elegant about it, a bit more ceremonial and grateful.

I have a fancy for pears at the minute. I'm going to buy lots before I pick up dd from the charming greengrocers. I went in yesterday and he said 'you've bought all the satsumas we have.'

Anyway, they have these very plump, creamy organic pears. I'm going to eat all those now.

VegetatingPossum · 13/11/2007 12:32

100x, why is your DD xurrently at the charming greengrocers?
[slightly perturbed emoticon]

frothykindofadrink · 13/11/2007 12:35

oh franny I was only being nosey please don't think I was being rude about your meet-up, I haven't even been here

I was just trying to live vicariously through others

for example I am enjoying pretending that I am too baking flapjacks like 100x and making miso soup and - didn't someone mention going for a swim?

Never mind I shall be watching my regular two episodes of The OC from my bed this afternoon. I am turning into a real little old lecherous lady ogling the very pretty 20 year olds

MrsCarrot · 13/11/2007 12:36

Yes, you need large juicy pears, none of those mean-spirited tooth curling conference ones.

Send me a flapjack. I will be grateful.
