For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Does anyone want to play Scr*&&}e with me?

pinkspottywellies · 06/11/2007 22:01

TooT Thanks for your help with the cake. It went down a storm. I made chocolate orange flavour and I think I prefer it to ordinary sponge cake (sorry if I'd said already)

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 22:03

no I see what you mean B, but your body is your friend even in my scenario, it is saying "someone help me" because you are not letting your head say it

I hope it turns out to be guava after all

PSW I would but I must go to bed I think

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 22:07

franny....i cant be bothered to crawl back to my bed....it's too cold

as long as you dont snore
I had a horrid snoring habit when I was pg

there seem to be biscuit crumbs in here though

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 22:12

Oh Lully stay here, I don't think I snore atm

you can get up and go and see to ds when he wants a cuddle because of the funny rabbit shadow though

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 22:14

funny rabbit shadow ?????

FrannyandZooey · 06/11/2007 22:17

yes

it defies solutions

partly because it is completely ruddy invisible to anyone except ds

every few weeks we have a big rabbit shadow crisis and I have to leave various different lights on to combat the problem

this works for a while, sometimes several weeks, then we have to begin all over again

I would shoot the bloody rabbit if I could find it

I'll play scrabble with you psw. Franny can vouch for how useless I am how well I play.

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 22:20

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....i see
aw gawd

as ds would say 'just because you cant see something mama, doesn't mean it's not real'

I used to see a horrid witchy type bent up old lady in a moth eaten old fur coat with dead birds round her neck in the curtains when I was very small.........still gives me the shudders....she was terrifying.

pinkspottywellies · 06/11/2007 22:20

Yay! What's your email addres idris and I'll start.

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 22:21

I have discovered both children sleep better with the light on. There is no way I can sleep with the light on. Luckily if they end up in our bed, teh light stays off .

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 22:23

I have never had a light on in ds's room
he isn't remotely worried about the dark.......yet

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 22:23

My email address is idristhedragon31 at gmail dot com .

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 22:24

lullabyloo · 06/11/2007 22:25

night chaps

hunkermunker · 06/11/2007 22:26

Hello, no you haven't scared me off, but I'm afraid that unless a glass of wine and a jaffa cake counts, I'm failing horribly.

Have had:

peas
sweetcorn
tomatoes
leaves of many sorts
2x smoothies (on offer) - pomegranate blueberry acai and cranberry and raspberry
coleslaw

glass of wine (grapes? )
party rings
jaffa cake (smashing orangey bit? )

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 22:26

Night night LL

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 22:27

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 22:32

I like the pictures TooT .

ahundredtimes · 06/11/2007 22:32

I HEART dd1 and her oh so straight stare. But you know this. Also v. jolly chap on the wall. I like him too.

TooT. Sort out Boecoe's rash NOW please.

IdrisTheDragon · 06/11/2007 22:33

There has been a lot of talk. Jyst not all of it has been to do with fruit or vegetables .

PossumIsMunchingPumpkins · 06/11/2007 22:36

TooT, Thompson and Morgan have bred some Mediterranean-type trees to withstand the English climate, which is becoming more mild anyway. If your garden is sheltered then apricot and peach trees are possible. Figs grow and fruit well in a container. I can't bear supermarket fruit (usually harvested unripe and the more delicate varieties are not stocked at all as they do not travel well) hence growing my own has become a pressing need.
My orchard is an act of militant occupancy. As I trod in the greengage I did a little dance of merry devilment whilst throwing airy V signs in the direction of the neighbouring millionaire who wants my garden.

Avi. how did you resolve the firework decbacle?

Boco, truly, I would recommend a homeopath - a good one - to get to the root of what is ailing you, allopathic medicine in such cases often treats the symptoms but not the cause.
