Covid?

VintageDressmaker · 07/01/2021 22:56

Pain constant or when you breathe in? I had this when I had a Pulmonary embolism

Overseasmom100 · 07/01/2021 22:59

Not constant...just when I deep breath

Pericarditis?

ThrowawaySecondarySchool · 07/01/2021 23:03

Costocondritis? You can tell if it might be this (inflammation of the joint between the ribs and the sternum) by pressing on the joint to see if it causes pain.

Overseasmom100 · 07/01/2021 23:07

Ive just pressed area ribs/sternun and it does ache abit. Will try that again in morning.

First I thought lungs but sharp pain is high up literally the area of the middle of my left boob! Wondering heart? Mainly when I take a deep breath in

I get something exactly like this a lot. Have done for years. Doctors have cleared me of all the worrying things. Obviously you should get it checked out but try not to worry.

TheoriginalLEM · 07/01/2021 23:21

You need a covid test

PurpleFrames · 07/01/2021 23:24

Could it be costochondritis? It can come on suddenly or be a reoccurring condition. My rheumatologist advised taking paracetamol until the pain eases.

mistletoeandsigh · 07/01/2021 23:24

I had this last week (Covid), probably worth testing for it.

grassisjeweled · 08/01/2021 01:52

I had EXACTLY this. It was down to stress.

Couldn't sneeze properly, too painful, couldn't take a deep breath either.

Christoncrutches · 08/01/2021 02:04

Almost certainly not heart if its when you breath... more likely costochondritis, pleuritic pain or pulled muscle. If you feel unwell, defo get tested!

Overseasmom100 · 08/01/2021 07:19

Stress....tons of that at the moment work, elderly parent and a teenager!

I dont feel ill but this morning def feel the pain when deep breathing

Please get it checked. I am currently being treated for a PE. My symptoms where pain just below my right collarbone and done the back of my right ribs. It hurt like hell to take a deep breath, I thought it must be pleurisy...

I have no risk factors that they can see as yet as to why I got this and I had run several miles the day before, always very active. I’m not trying to scare anyone but I never thought it could possibly be a PE!

Overseasmom100 · 08/01/2021 22:33

Ah ok thanks will call gp Monday...psin not as bad tonight.

purplebagladylovesgin · 08/01/2021 22:37

Silent reflux can cause something like this, little known symptom. Silent reflux isn't obvious, so you get strange symptoms without connecting them.

VintageDressmaker · 08/01/2021 23:39

I would seek advice through 111. I had a PE a number of years ago. Never dreamt it would be a PE. Suffered for days. They causing it just in time - I nearly died. Not wanting to scare you, but get advice from an actual medical professional.

SheeshazAZ09 · 08/01/2021 23:42

I had similar — was convinced I was having a heart attack but turned out to be pulled intercostal muscle. Not saying it is that for you though — do get it checked out.

80sBestYear · 21/05/2021 20:35

@Overseasmom100 did you find out what this was? Having similar pains tonight

GloomyWaters · 21/05/2021 20:53

Yes...I called GP and he sent me to hosp for chest xray. Results came back clear nothing showing at all. The bottom of my breast bone in the centre was sore so he things it was related to that and nothing serious.

Ive had the odd pain recebtly and I think it's stress related...when Im worked up stressed out (teenager GCSEs elderly parent!!!) I tend to feel it. Have it now in.the background still

80sBestYear · 21/05/2021 21:28

@GloomyWaters thanks for replying. I think mine in probably stress related and happy to hear your feeling better and it was nothing serious
