For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

But did you grow the dogwood??

I have planted some and it looks like a few sticks and I want a lot of it, a great towering hedge of it would be good but I am worried it takes ages to bush out.

Boco · 22/10/2007 22:58

Yes i'm still waiting for that scrabble cheque to clear from MrsAvi.

But why can't you say? Are you in witness protection? It's just too intriguing. Is it a very secret island?

Morning Guys.

You all stay up way too late for me

Papillon · 23/10/2007 07:27

I like dogwoods, they are in flower here in NZ atm

Hi everyone, me back again with a short snippet of life as Paps. I have been busy in my garden, getting seeds to germinate, watering plants... its all quite abit of work - but I read today that gardening is quite sexy and landscaping and getting those green shoots to shoot up is very good inspiration for neighbours not to mention the planet.

Had the butternut pumpkin tonite, abit based on the Nigel Slater recipe posted on 10/10 some eons ago. Butternut was organic and purchased down road in front of someones house. Its a little one and just perfect for a meal. I put in abit of fish and then picked sorrel, spinach, kaffir, oregano, celery, italian parsley from my garden Hurrah!

Paps how delicious to see you. You really should drop in more often and spread some fruity love around here. Can't believe how productive your garden sounds....wonderful

Avi I think I scared him off with my innuendo didn't I? Is he coming to the meet up, yes? I have this image now of this cultured and rather courtly person in polite bemusement at us all.

MrAvi was very nice.
I'm quite intrigued by the bit about giving a false picture of your real life though Avi, that i actually had a dream about you last night. In my dream i came to visit you, you lived on a pier, and your house was full of newspapers and baked beans - and the team from changing rooms or some tv show were trying to persuade you to shovel all the beans - which weren't in tins but just lying around on the floor and in buckets - off the end of the pier for the fish, but you were standing on the end of the pier saying 'just leave it all exactly as it is, it's how i like it!'.

I probably shouldn't mn late at night. Or eat cheese. And go out more.

Actually, i'm going to Norwich today - all day - where there'll be people and cars and shops! Can't wait! I'll probably just get stuck pressing the crossing buttons in wonder like a deranged bumpkin. Mrs C i'll look for you as usual.

MrsCarrot · 23/10/2007 09:42

Damn, Boco, I am going to Suffolk, to the zoo. Maybe I'll see you on the A12.

Avi - sorry I kept going on about the dogwood, I wanted mine to grow plush enough to pick sprigs for Christmas like yours.

My mango was rather pale and powdery, and I can't work out why the floor is covered in carrot when I gave Lo a pot of cornflakes and raisins.
