For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

and they are the chunky 40mm ones

That sounds like my dream kitchen too Lull - only I'll have to extend my house to get even a reasonable sized kitchen to put beautiful units and wooden worktops in!

We had pomegranite and apple porridge today. Lunch at a friends house -cheese toasties. I had jacket potato and baked beans for tea. Crikey what a rubbish day. Juice and raisins as well. Will go and have an apple.

My sister's coming to stay tomorrow We didn't get on well when we were young but we do now!

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 19:26

all done..it is slapped on the credit card i just paid off with the new one..so just have to find someone to fit it now and see if they will actually deliver it to the house without getting a monk on about access and parking

feel like winding down with something nice...

Tatties · 24/10/2007 19:59

Hello TooT

littlerach · 24/10/2007 20:01

Thnaks tatties.

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:02

I'm eating dalek cake. I made it with steamed puddings
Are you feeling better Tatties?

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:03

Here, have some cake... (it's v. chocolatey)

Tatties · 24/10/2007 20:10

Ooh Ticky can I have some cake too? [gently cheeky emoticon]

I am feeling much better thanks, boob is much less sore and I don't feel achey or anything now. But I still feel tired, you know, like I've been through an ordeal. Sounds a bit pathetic really but I was so worried I was going to get feverish, I think it has drained me emotionally!

pinkspottywellies · 24/10/2007 20:11

Toot, can you give me an egg free cake recipe please.

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:14

Tatties, how can I resist? Have 2 slices. Glad you're on the mend - lots of rest and fruit. Toot's orders.

PSW, of course. anything in particular?

littlerach · 24/10/2007 20:15

Thanks Ticky.
Am a little stuffed now.

pinkspottywellies · 24/10/2007 20:18

I'm going to make a birthday cake for our nct group babies first birthdays (dd is one in two weeks ) and one of them is allergic to eggs. So anything really. I wondered if the apple buns would make a big cake ok. or a sponge cake or whatever really.

FrannyandGreenychordCarrier · 24/10/2007 20:20

PSW my banana cake is healthy and egg free and usually goes down well (sorry if butting in TooT)

just realised I am getting near PMT as well, we are synchronising again. Can we stop as it makes my cycles very funny

Tatties · 24/10/2007 20:23

I know, all this synchronisation business made me late last month

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:24

I tend to make cakes that are not too rich and they are mostly a variation on:
3oz margarine
3oz sugar
6oz wholemeal SR flour
soya milk as needed
I then add variety with raisins/lemon or orange zest/cocoa/vanilla/whatever.
Another good one is:
6oz wholemeal SR flour
3oz sugar
3fl.oz sunflower oil
6fl.oz water
With 1oz cocoa, this is the base for the most wonderful chocolate pudding - all credit for this one to The Cake Scoffer, book published by Animal Aid.

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:26

That's okay Franny.

Chopped apple and cinnamon go fine in either of these recipes.

pinkspottywellies · 24/10/2007 20:26

MINIBUS Franny. Good GOD!

I thought the Banana cake recipe I had was yours but the one I make has egg Can you give me your recipe please

FrannyandGreenychordCarrier · 24/10/2007 20:28

oh

it DOES have egg in it does it? When i cook it for my vegan friend I do 1 tbsp of ground linseed mixed into 3 tbsp cold water, and left to stand. Use this for every egg you want to replace. Sorry.

FrannyandGreenychordCarrier · 24/10/2007 20:29

Oh Tatties I think I would rather be late

I keep having 24 day cycles and I am sure it is you lot and the moon buggering me about

PSW what is wrong with MINIBUS, pray?

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:30

You don't actually need to replace eggs in the majority of cases.

Minibus? Who wants one?

Tatties · 24/10/2007 20:32

Well 24 days is not much fun I agree, I just worry if I'm late.

pinkspottywellies · 24/10/2007 20:33

Nothing's wrong with MINIBUS. But 71 bloody points! Bloody hell!

I might try the linseed oil thing (is it expensive?) Thanks TooT. I will try the chocolate one too. I'd better eat practice them all first to make an informed decision

TooTicky · 24/10/2007 20:37

PSW, if you do the chocolate one, mix up 1tbsp cocoa powder, 6tbsps hot water and some sugar (recipe says 3oz but this is so rich I only use about 1oz) and pour over mixture. Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes. It forms a chocolate sauce under the cake.
