For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZooey · 24/10/2007 17:50

i don't know what wenge or cheap worktops are like

zippi are you SURE you aren't a bit manic?

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 17:53

manic

er why do you think so

i thought i was getting depressed the other day but maybe i'm just tricycling at the mo

i am under a lot of pressure i have to order this kitchen now and i'm driving to cornwall in the morning

FrannyandZooey · 24/10/2007 17:55

ok I am just interfering and fretting I expect

running around ordering kitchens and having lots of sex with turkish men is easily mistaken for mania I reckon

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 17:58

he has walked off from my conversation as i asked him about worktops instead of sex

tsk

i have to get a kitchen

you are probably right but it's the only way to get things done round here not that it does as it just makes things whiz round ineffectually

FrannyandGreenychordCarrier · 24/10/2007 18:01

you know this cyber sex online stuff is addictive and makes you do extremely bonkers things?

allegedly

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 18:04

i am his comfort blanket

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 18:05

rather bizarrely he responded to my worktop dilemma with

you are funny

FrannyandGreenychordCarrier · 24/10/2007 18:11

LOL

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 18:16

final words in our chat from him were

you can't put pressure on a fella

how unhelpful is that

also claims he is not an interior designer but a graphic designer

useless

Boco · 24/10/2007 18:17

Did i scare mrsC off with my threat of visiting?

Do you have a Turkish boyfriend Zippi? I missed that bit - is he an online catch? You move fast lady.

Firepit looks great - i want one.

FK your food sounds really nice. Shame you don't live round here still or i'd threaten to visit you too.

Mnetter coming for lunch tomorrow - the one you know FK. I think i'll make soup.

Been at the park for hours today as girls suddenly better and full of energy. I'm making a big stew with dumplings - loads of vegetables - butternuts quash, beans, broccoli, carrot, onion, peppers, swede, courgette.

Dp is really stressed and down atm, he's come in and is going out to the climbing wall. I know it's a great release for him, when he gets depressed it seems to do good, but i also feel a little bit cheated when i've been on my own with children all day, and then only see him for half an hour and do the whole cooking and bedtime thing by myself too. I don't complain to him obviously as i'm glad he's doing something that makes him feel better, but always get bit of a dread feeling when he gets like this. Just moaning really.

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 18:22

he is just an online mate who wants sex sometime or other ...he went to turkey to live but for one thing and another in personal crisis sense he is back

for the mo

he has been around since august

and apparently thinks i am funny

Boco · 24/10/2007 18:23

Oh sorry i remember him now - the balloon one?

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 18:25

oh yes you have a better memory than me lol that's the one..i think..there is only one turkish one

Lullabyloo · 24/10/2007 18:27

Boco...
lets go & visit fk tomorrow

in the mean time.......mmmmmmmm stew & dumplings

i havn't cooked a thing today
well,I made ds vanilla & apricot porridge this morning,he tucked in enthusiastically as ever & then said 'actually Mama, porridge looks quite like sick doesn't it?'

charming child
kind of put me off culinary things for today
dh is having pizza

Lullabyloo · 24/10/2007 18:30

oooooooooooooh.....I want a fire pit

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 18:31

sorry about dh boco

FrayedKnot · 24/10/2007 18:45

Oh dear DHs being a worry

Mine has come home early which for him is like saying "F*k you" to his workplace

And seems more cheery

I have made Quince compote and it is divine.

I'm afraid there aren;t many chocolate biscuits left tho

You know the thing that has made them so moreish is the Green & Blacks cocoa powder.

Have a nice lunch with the MNer from D, Boco. I'm sure soup will be good.

Zippi I have cheap worktops, it's OK.

FrayedKnot · 24/10/2007 18:46

I am wondering what relatives will say if I put firepit on DS' Christmas list

He would absolutely LOVE one.

FrannyandGreenychordCarrier · 24/10/2007 19:00

I am really hoping that this firepit is going to be the bees knees

zippi get a cheap worksurface and buy a firepit instead

no actually, I have cheap worksurfaces and I loathe them and they depress me. I am all for saving money but if you want good food to be a pleasure and an important part of your life then I think you need to enjoy being in your kitchen. And personally I think some decent wood to look at rather than some shitty plastic covered with fablon by previous owner (thanks for that) and all scuffed up with knife cuts and a horrible sticky and fluffy bit where I went mad and tried to rip it off and failed and made it look worse than before. Just a thought.

Lullabyloo · 24/10/2007 19:00

so would ds

Lullabyloo · 24/10/2007 19:03

franny...I have to say I agree.....we inherited our kitchen from previous couple....it's black & chrome & has fake granite worktops (yuck)
not my taste at all
I dream of a cream & duck egg blue shakeresque type kitchen with chunky wooden worktops

ah me

zippitippitoes · 24/10/2007 19:03

i haven't cheap worktops in the new house i have ordered walnut ...which only seems cheap because it was abit less than the wenge just hope i have ordered all the right srtuff for the kitchen and not ballsed up my design/measurements

i have cheap in my house and they are ok actually
