Steve has got much worse since yesterday morning. he was sick six times and he is the same today, he has a lot of swelling around his head and eye
i phoned the docs and got thou to NHS direct.
they asked if steve would go into hospital, had to say no as he wants to stay at home.
just need to get the swelling, pain & sickness sorted out.
the doctor will be here within an hour

no the doctor not here yet, my "hour" and the NHS "hour" can mean different things entirely

Your an amazing woman oj. I've been sat on my lazy bum most of today moaning about being on my own to clean up, your and Steve's situation puts it all into perspective.

you deserve a meal for your sense of humour at such a difficult time

you are all in my thoughts and prayers

WendyWeber · 21/10/2007 13:44

Oh dear

I've been wondering how Steve was doing, must have missed recent threads - hope the doc is quick (and dishy!) and can sort him out, and let him stay at home if at all possible.

You are great, you know, oj

(And you def deserve a meal!)

TheCurseOfTheMhummy · 21/10/2007 13:44

Sorry but

onlyjoking9329 · 21/10/2007 13:47

i think steriods will help him, we have spoken to oncologist before about the swelling and steriods but they are not keen on using steriods as they are harmful in long term use

onlyjoking9329 · 21/10/2007 13:48

kindersurprise · 21/10/2007 14:36

Thinking of you and Steve, hope the Dr has been able to help

WideWebWitch · 21/10/2007 14:40

So sorry OJ.

onlyjoking9329 · 21/10/2007 14:51

Doc has been he was not dishy very nice. he has told us to use the anti sickness tablets that steve usually has only on mondays and thursdays (when he has some other meds) so he is to have the ondansatron £7.19 per tablet. the consultant didn't want steve to have them everyday cos of the cost i reckon.
there is little point giving him cheap anti sickness that doesn't work as he isn't keeping the chemo tabs down and they cost 15K

OP posts:
SharpMolarBear · 21/10/2007 14:54

So sorry to hear Steve is sick and suffering. Hope the anti sickness tablets help - did he get anything to help with the swelling?

onlyjoking9329 · 21/10/2007 14:55

no he didn't will see the consultant tomorrow thou

cookiesandscream · 21/10/2007 15:27

IntergalacticWarlock · 21/10/2007 15:29

OJ, I am so sorry you are going through this. I have never posted on yout threads before, but I have always admired your strength and the fact you can keep your sense of humour in the most awful circumstances.

I hope that Steve will feel more comfortable later. Good luck at the hospital tomorrow
