That's it really-am I being paranoid or should I get her checked?
Where and how if yes?

ScaryMonsterStories · 01/10/2007 22:13

what pic?

faylisa · 01/10/2007 22:14

There is no link to look at but if you are at all worried then why not take her to your GP, for reassurance. Or maybe an optician, depending on how old she is

fingerwoman · 01/10/2007 22:14

should there be a pic?

Whooosh · 01/10/2007 22:15

Oh Bum-should have been added to my profile-Please bear with me and will try again.....

edam · 01/10/2007 22:16

If I click on your name to get your profile, it says there is no such page/you've got privacy settings that stop anyone not among your friends seeing it.

If you mean you've got a photo where her pupils look weird, then I'd see your GP. Eye cancer in children is very rare but should always be checked out.

ScaryMonsterStories · 01/10/2007 22:16

you need to make your profile public..

edam · 01/10/2007 22:17

hope this helps

Whooosh · 01/10/2007 22:21

Ok-If I clck on my name I get to my pictures which I would like your opinion on....fingers crossed....

OP posts:
edam · 01/10/2007 22:22

Nope, you've still got your privacy settings blocking us out. Look at my link!

loopylou6 · 01/10/2007 22:22

ITS SAYS THIS.
No such page

Either Whooosh has not created a public page yet or its privacy settings don't allow you to see it.

ScaryMonsterStories · 01/10/2007 22:22

I think you need to make your profile public. You can see it but we can't.

As others have said if you have any doubts take the photo to a Dr.

How old is she. I think RB only affects those under 5. I am also awae of 2-3 similar threads which turned out to be noting. Worth checking though

Tamum · 01/10/2007 22:26

It's more common in the under 5s but it's not exclusively that early. It's entirely possible that she just isn't looking straight at the camera, but it's definitely worth getting checked out, it's so curable.

Whooosh · 01/10/2007 22:33

Oh at last!

Doh!

So guys-what do you think-is it the angle with one red eye and one white or should I get it checked (she is 2.4yrs)?

SO who chackes-optician or GP?

I can see the picture in your profile. I'm not sure - could be the flash of the camera or maybe not. I would take her to get it looked at for peace of mind if she was my DD.

Tamum · 01/10/2007 22:35

Looks very much like the angle to me, but I would take a couple more tomorrow and different angles and see if there's still any sign of it. It's worth getting checked by the doctor in any case though, no-one will feel you're wasting their time, but I would try not to worry, meanwhile.

brimfull · 01/10/2007 22:36

gp rather than optician I think

edam · 01/10/2007 22:36

What mildmannered said. It's probably just one of those wierd effects you get in photography, but is worth checking out. Eye cancer in children is rare so don't panic but do see the doc because this 'white pupil' thing can be a symptom.

ScaryMonsterStories · 01/10/2007 22:37

It could be the angle (as her 2 eyes are looking at slightly different angles - so explains why they look different to each other), but worth getting it checked.

I would probably go to GP rather than optician (but if GP doesn't take you serieously then you could always go to optician).

I did see a similar ohoto on her a few months ago and it was all fine.

Is this a one off photo or regular phenomenon? If think if it is regular I would be more concerned.

fingerwoman · 01/10/2007 22:37

i'd definitely get it checked. see your GP, s/he can refer you to an eye consultant type person.

xXxamyxXx · 01/10/2007 22:40

probably nothing at all red eye or white eye in photos is usually caused by eyes no quiet focused or at moment of focusing so probably just the angle maybe bring her to optician to rule out possibility of her having a lazy eye

NotAnOtter · 01/10/2007 22:41

is this a one off woosh or has this shown up before?

clandestine · 01/10/2007 22:44

It would worry me enough to go to the GP.

Afterall, it isn't the kind of thing one would take a risk over is it? Better a fool than a sorry fool, as they say
