For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

FrannyandZombie · 06/10/2007 09:29

I only mentioned him parenthetically. I am sure I am allowed to mention him once a month, in parentheses. If not I am stropping off.

FrannyandZombie · 06/10/2007 09:30

at Bee

BBBee · 06/10/2007 09:33

I don;t know what "parenthetically" means - if it has something to do with mooncups and parts please don;t explain.

BBBee · 06/10/2007 09:34

franny - will quickly post pic of my dcs if you are still around.

FrannyandZombie · 06/10/2007 09:35

yes two secs must go and brush my hair and get coat on

will look then

BBBee · 06/10/2007 09:39

okay - is there but oh so briefly.

DS is in drag - he has lighter hair. He has a feminine side that he is more than comfortable with.

Oh and you can gasp at the state of my house!

FrannyandZombie · 06/10/2007 09:41

Oh fab! I love the dressing up outfits, I would fit right in on a night out

What ages are they Bee? They look beautiful

ds is 7 and dd is 5 - and - ahem - they are my clothes not dressing up clothes.

My house is bad isn;t it?

Boco · 06/10/2007 10:33

Good morning veggers. Inlaws accompanied dd1 to ballet so they can peep through the door and make her feel embarrassed.

I was in a car crash bee, but not as bad, not injured - but the timing was the thing to totally throw me.

It was after dd1 was born - she had to go into special care as she had rhesus disease and it had been a traumatic birth and i was already slightly mad - after 5 days they said we could go home for one night as long as we came back in the morning - and as i'd not been able to cuddle her much i couldn't wait. On the way back to the hospital we skidded on black ice, and went round and round and into a ditch - and it was on a bend and a lorry nearly took us out. It went so slowly - dd1 was next to me in the back and was screaming. Cars stopped and rushed to help us - dd2 was fast asleep bundled in her seat in the front and was oblivious, but i was terrified she had died as she was so still and i got hysterical and started crying - and didn't stop for days. Two of the wheels were knocked out. People gave us magic stars sweets - passed them though the window, and me and dd1 were sobbing and eating them. Someone drove me and dds to the hospital and dd2 had to have more blood tests that made her scream, and they thought i was mad as i was still noisily weeping.
It was partly everything else, but i found it very hard to get into a car for over a year. And i still don't like it much.

Bee you're being very brave. Get good comforting films out and lie on the sofa drinking green and blacks hot chocolate.

Boco that sounds absolutely horrendous. I have just had to go and count my dcs. I do this when there is trauma in the air.

TooTicky · 06/10/2007 10:44

Bee, sorry I missed your photos

I'm always missing photos
I still haven't seen Franny's face.

BBBee · 06/10/2007 11:04

oh boco that is awful - so awful. It is the second timing that gets you isn;t it. But oh you poor lovely girl - to be oh so vulnerable and delicate and for that to happen. But we take heart from each other that it turned out okay - it was awful but it is all right.

The police phoned me - sometimes they have people come forward after accidents as they are so worried about the other person so that might happen.

Toot if you are here I will do photos as I adore you.

filthymindedvixen · 06/10/2007 11:41

why do all these fun threads happen when I am bored with MN and so not around?

I love Lucky. Tho I have no idea what you're on about.

''what is it Lucky?''
''arf arf''
''Another child trapped down the well?...''
''Arrrf''
''Another ruckus on MN?''
''Woooof!''

filthymindedvixen · 06/10/2007 11:44

Wrong thead

Boco, Boco!

I am having a shit life at the moment. Not shit compared to some of you. But I'd like it all to stop now.

filthymindedvixen · 06/10/2007 11:44

The shit, that is.

Boco · 06/10/2007 11:52

oh no filthy why the shit? can we help?

This was a while ago now - it was dd2 not dd1 - and she'll be 3 at xmas. But thank you for blanket and chocolate - passes on to needier Bee.

I loved that pram thread - Lucky was my dog, and then there was fluffy the one legged swap dog Very silly really.

I feel in a state of high tension after catching up with the thread. There ia an air of anxst. Sometimes I think it is not worth going to bd early as I lie there wondering wheat everyone is saying. That's not good is it. I must have a break soon. Dh said Lo was always fighting for my attention with what he must perceive to be my other baby. That made me feel weird.

Boco - how awful, you poor thing. And BBBee, can't believe you thought I made it up? No-one could make that up, would be like saying my favouorite snack are screaming crisps or something.

Christmas - Hmm, I love it, but I like it to go my way, ie, here. My mother's was always like some carnival, drunk on blue curacao and baileys by midday, paper everywhere, everyone arguing. Dh family xmas was like being in a old people's home, sedate, boring, stuffy, drinks at eleven, linch at 1pm prompt so it finished in time for speech and then presents, as opposed to my family's roast chicken arriving around five as she doesn't like turkey. Ours is somewhere inbetween.

Ah, the Santa thing.

We told DS that is was just a story but everyone was really, really shocked and acted like we had strangled Tinkerbell or something.

He also keeps forgetting it is just a story. Interested to see which way he jumps this year.

The other thing is that if he tells the other children there will be a parental posse after you.

MrsCarrot · 06/10/2007 12:34

could he not leave a stocking downstairs?

lionheart · 06/10/2007 12:35

BBB I hope you are feeling less shaky this morning.

Sisters are really not all bad. I have several.
