Anyone else had this chesty virus?

I haven't been to China or abroad anywhere, so let's get that out of the way first.

I have a viral chest infection (gp confirmed) and I'm on week 3 of hacking my lungs up. DD has had it for six weeks, DS and DH started with it last week. According to the GP there's a nasty bout of it going round and recovery is taking ages.

Does anyone else have it and want to share their misery with me?

Corona virus isn't unusual of itself- there's lots of varieties around. It's the new one that seems to be an issue... because there is no pre existing immunity.

Week 3?! Urgh. I'm on day 3 and so done with it already 😳

Although (tmi alert) my mucous is green, which I think means mine is bacterial.

Avocadohips my mucus is green as well but my chest is clear. Apparently mucus colour doesn't matter, unless it's rusty which indicates blood.

Pretty sure it's not Corona, as DD started with it five weeks ago.

My daughter has also had this for weeks. We thought she was getting better when yesterday her throat and tongue started swelling not enough to interfere with her breathing but it was very painful and she has large glands sticking out all over her neck. The doctor said oh you are definitely coming down with something. My daughter said yeah I’ve been coming down with something for 3 weeks. Doctor said it’s viral rest and drink plenty of water.

We've got it. DD1 has had it for about 3 weeks and seems to be getting better now. I'm on week 2 and am utterly exhausted with it. No one has had a decent nights sleep for weeks. I had a horrible cold for a couple of weeks at the start of January and thought that'd be me for the winter but this is much worse. The weather doesn't help either it's bloody miserable. Got flu/cold tablets, dry cough medicine and lozenges but nothing seems to help. Cough is dry, nothing coming up so not worth a visit to GP as I'll just be told to rest and hydrate.
