For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I am still loving the questions BBee, please don't ever stop.

I need to add this on my way to bed, because this is what we ate tonight.

Spaghetti Primaeveria (sp? can't remember): broccoli, spring onions, tomatoes, courgettes, peas.

The pudding including: strawberries, raspberries, peaches, kiwi fruits and mango.

I thank you. With that and lunch I officially declare that this is my FIRST day of 10/10 for sure.

I want that badge now, the one she gives out in the tent.

was lying awake last night and thinking about the cooking in bulk thing - it is very good and I am quite disorganised but I love the idea of one night of sooking producing so many dishes.today my (SMART) goal is to create my own using frans as a template. also I promise not to spread any more meet up angst.

Fran is HC still with you? Tell her from me that I think she is wonderful and kind for doing that photo thing.

Okay - we are off to the park today with a friend and her children. I need to get some more fruit and vegetables which is really good - we are getting through them really quick.

100 - are you going to do the veg box thing?

I feel all nice and bright today. How are you Boco? Shall we nag you about the dentist or not? The worst bit is phoning for the appointment and then inevetiablity takes over and that is easy because it requires no actioon you just have to get on with it. Also the dentist is NEVER as bad as you think. LAst time I was in the dentist chair having a filling done I said over nad over to myself 'this really is not that bad - remember for next time this really is not that bad.'

My house is now beyond any justicifation of boho mess chic and is just plain mess. You have to step over things to get in to lots of the rooms.

Am still lving the 'how did you meet your dp' thread.

BBBee · 29/08/2007 08:32

(am still a bit freaked by the idea that there are lots of lurkers on here - a bit like that bit in the wizard of oz where the house lands and she is walking around and can hear the munckins laughing in the bushes.)

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 08:36

ok I am feeling quite grim..what do you nice people use for period pain and associated sick yuk wiped outedness?

unlikely to mange much exercise today so will say I went to the gym and did my walk yesterday

raced back for mr one brick the brickie who agreed with me the previous day that he wopuld be here at twelve and waited for him fpor the rest of the day but he didn't turn up

maybe he will deign to come today

pinkspottywellies · 29/08/2007 08:38

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEkkkkkkkkkk! I've booked the travellodge. I've convinced Mr Wellies (big green men's ones!) to meet you bunch of hairy truckers!! Rubbish for f&v yesterday - strawberries (tinned but not bad on porridge), avocado, olives, cucumber, tomato, hummous and beetroot at lunchtime (about 2 or 2 1/2 portions) and salad for dinner.

I'm quite excited about the meet up now but really nervous!

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 08:41

oh goody

we are all booking

pinkspottywellies · 29/08/2007 08:44

I haven't posted on that thread BBB but I met dh in a nightclub. He was working there and took rather a fancy to me so chatted me up (can't believe he did cos he's quite shy) and then got the sack for chatting to me! It was only a second job for a bit of extra pocket money. I was really drunk and gave him my phone number (never done that before) and he rang the next day and the rest, as they say, is history!

Zippi, I recommend chocolate, movies and duvet on the sofa and shout at the builder!

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 08:50

I tend to avoid chocolate..as potentially addictive substance..though i did make a chocolate fudge cake a couple of weeks ago when i did my first roast sunday dinner for a couple of months..managed to give almost all of it away

in bed with laptop book etc is pretty much my daily existence

filthymindedvixen · 29/08/2007 08:50

Tatties and I have both booked too!

I met my dh in a pub. He was a friend of a work colleague. It was love at first sight and I was actually living with someone else when I met him and my stomach lurched and I came away thinking'' I'm with the wrong man. I need to be with that man..'' But we left it 6 months before acting on it and then it was very quick.

|Today I am having a fruit fest - banana, plums, strawbs, grapes, pineapple and some youghuty thing with fruit compote which claim to be one of my 5 a day...
Hummous and salad sandwich for my lunch and I'll wing it at suppertime.

Have to go to work now . Have a lovely day everyone. Is it full moon? I feel very twitchy and energised.. [bounce bounce bounce]

BBBee · 29/08/2007 08:53

oh zippi - poor you. Eat some iron rich foods and get a hot water bottle and be really nice to yourself.

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 08:56

Can I join in please? Or at least try to? Am probably fairly useless but am at least eating some fruit salad at the moment .

Will try and catch up on the rest of this thread, work allowing .

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 08:56

I met dp when i was a hospital patient, I had been home for the evening and I called a taxi from a firm where I had been on a trip to London with a dutch taxi driver earlier in the year..he didn't come but dp did...I asked him to drive me to cornwall..he suggested we went to birmingham instead so we drove round there for several hours before he took me back to the hospital..when i got up to the door i was too cowardly to go in so went back to the car and asked him to take me home with him...I got into a lot of trouble when I went back..later in the day

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 08:57

can I say I hate the dentist. Have been good and found myself a new one. Will be going there for ever and ever (think painting the Forth road bridge).

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 09:00

We do get a veg box.

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 09:00
pinkspottywellies · 29/08/2007 09:01

I used to be bad at the dentist because I'd had a really bad experience. I didn't go for 4 years and then when I started going again I used to sit in the waiting room in tears! My new dentist was really good though and I found out that it actually doesn't have to hurt so I'm much better now

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 09:01

can i say welcome idris...not sure of the protocol for standing in for franny

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 09:04

I had a phobia of dentists which started when a criminal fraud who took a tooth oput for me when i was about 5 let me come round from the anaesthetic while he was still trying to pull it out..the tooth broke and there was a huge tray of blood in front of my face..he gave up and went on the run..it was quite a case in the papers at the time

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 09:05

I have had a Document emailed to me by F&Z, although not on the topic of bulk cooking .

Thank you for the words of welcome .

ahundredtimes · 29/08/2007 09:20

Welcome Idris. I shouldn't be here Idris, but now I'm in line for a badge I feel confident and shouting out across the room and waving leeks in greeting.

BBee - so you ARE going to the meet-up then? Angst and all? Also you have to say where you met your dp.

TT -my ds2 likes wearing no clothes too. Infact was it our ds2s who were both wearing their pyjamas around bath the other day? I think so. Waistbands and collars are our particular struggle. The junior school ds2 is going to start next week requires a TIE. A TIE! I am in denial about this.
Also - I have lots of well worn washed grey trousers for a 5 y-o. They are not cotton, but they are very, very soft now. Yours if you want them.

Boco - go to the dentist.

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 09:29

I met DH in our first week at university .

Boco · 29/08/2007 09:34

Oh, yes yes, but you see i'm not usually a dentist avoider - i do hate it, but always up to date with appointments - and i went only 2 months ago and had my FIRST ever 2 fillings, and they were horrendous - i hated it, one was in a wisdom tooth and took ages, and he was so rough with my general face. And it's not fair as he told me not to come back for a year, and i was relieved, and now this - and i don't even know which tooth because it's a nerve pain that seems to be everywhere. I will have to.

Zippi your story is by far the best dp meeting one - can i ask you though - did you have a huge taxi fare? Did he charge you? What about the bit to his house?

BBBee i already told you how i met dp but it's not that interesting so i didn't post on that thread. At college. It was unrequited for a while though - we were best friends, and i loved him, but he avoided that issue, and it was all very painful - but when i went on dates with anyone else he'd turn up and sit between us and make sure there was no way i could possibly meet anyone else - which i found touching, and then very annoying and got angry and went on a secret date with someone, and he found out and came round quite drunk and said he'd made a mistake and we got together and the date had to go home and we've been together for 12 years.
