Just wondering if Mumsnet could have a charitable fund that we could use for Mumsnetters in need?

I've been reading about people wanting to do something for misdee, and then I saw onlyjoking's thread about her dh and the limited time he has.

I'm sure there are others who are also having a really bad time. So just wondered about having a general fund whereby we could nominate other Mumsnetters to benefit from?

Not sure how it would all happen though.

Oooh looky! Sorry I thought after the intial no's the thread had died.

I do understand and agree with you all now. I guess at the time I suggested it I was looking at the happy misdee thread in active convos and people wanting to do something for her and her family, and then there was also the one thread about onlyjoking's desperately sad situation, although she has said she doesn't want anything.

I wasn't suggesting giving money as such, but that the money be used to give practical things such as holiday vouchers or mobile top-up vouchers, food vouchers, summat like that.

But now I think a bit deeper I can see that it wouldn't work.

And I am Northern, don't smoke but do have a tat so shove that in yer Brummie pipe Cod!
